Story
This spirited girl joined us as a stray and is looking for a loving home! While she might pull on her leash a bit when she's excited, she will settle down for leisurely walks. She adores treats of all kinds. She loves to play with her toys by throwing them up in the air only to catch them again. She is very good at something we call "shake off." This is when a dog does a full-body shake to reset their nervous system after being overwhelmed or after being poked or prodded at. She has an unmatched joy for peanut butter. She's more of a playful counter surfer than a trash diver, which is unusual. You normally don't have one without the other. But nonetheless, she is very playful and excited to meet everyone. ADOPTION FEE: LOCAL $100 NON-LOCAL $140 All dogs receive at least 1 distemper/parvo and Bordetella vaccine. If possible a heartworm test will be done and if negative the dog will be started on heartworm prevention. All animals receive a flea and parasite prevention/treatment and will be microchipped. All animals can go home the same day as adoption. We will need your photo ID and you will sign some documents. Adopters will also receive a copy of the animal's medical history to date. We do not do an application process. All adoptions are first come, first serve. We do not offer holds. We do not require in most cases that adopters bring all their families members and dogs for a meet and greet. But we do highly encourage it. We are happy to introduce the new dog to your dog(s) at the shelter. No appointment necessary. We do offer home trials of dogs over 6 months of age for about a week. You will not need to pay the adoption fee (spay neuter deposit) ahead of time, but if you decide to adopt you will need to return to the shelter to complete the paperwork and pay the adoption deposit. If you do not wish to complete the adoption, you can bring the dog back at any time during normal business hours during your home trial period. We do not allow after hours drop off.
