Story
Located Eugene. Lexi is a 7 year old spayed female looking for a foster or an adopter. She is a retired breeder whose owner had a change in circumstances and asked for SSRI's help to find her a new home. Lexi has been with a long term foster who we had hoped would adopt her, but sadly her circumstances have changed as well and she can no longer keep Lexi. Lexi is very much a Velcro girl that wants her person to herself. She is house trained, is not destructive in the house or car when left alone. Lexi does well at the groomers and at the boarding kennel. She can and has scaled a 4 foot fence! True springer legs. :). Lexi was 46 pounds when she first arrived and looking at her pictures we see this girl loves her food. She will need to have her food monitored to help her get back to her ideal body weight. Lexi is reactive to other dogs, especially when on a leash. She would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She is timid around new people, but with time and treats warms up to them. She is unknown around children so an adult home would most likely be best for her. Lexi did live with a reclusive cat. She was intrigued by her and would try to sniff the cat, much to the cats dislike. :) Lexi is up to date on her vaccinations. She does have dry eye that is treated daily with a small amount of prescription eye cream. Lexi will thrive with someone who is patient and has knowledge about working with nervous dogs. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Lexi, please complete an adoption/foster application located on our website, under Oregon.

Story
We have a transport set up to leave SoCal on 11/16/24 to NorCal and OR. We would love to add Libby to our trip for the right family ❤️ Travel costs are in addition to her adoption fee. Travel costs/adoption fee are always due when we arrive in person with your new baby in hand ❤️ Meet Libby. She is a purebred black and white parti colored moyan size standard poodle. She turns 3 in December of 2024 ❤️ She is spayed, current on all vaccines, microchipped, had an exam with our vet including a dental exam (teeth are in great health) and has been cleared to find a home all her own. She weighs 32 lbs. Yes, she is at a healthy weight and is full grown! She is just naturally small, and dainty ❤️ She is crate trained, and will sleep in her crate at night or throughout the day to nap, or while you are out of the home. She also LOVES being out of the crate, and in a bed next to yours at night if allowed so she is very versatile and easy going when it comes to her sleeping arrangements. She is house trained, and goes outside to use the restroom as needed throughout the day when asked to. She is leash trained as well, and loves her walks very much strolling alongside her person. She Is a bit shy meeting anyone she doesn't know, and will stay close to her human during unfamiliar interactions. She is one of the sweetest kindest souls you'll ever encounter, as her shyness just stems from living with a much older couple who were going through a lot of health issues leaving them immobile which kept Libby at home with them with not much socialization outside of her home aside from the short walks they could do with her in the evening that eventually stopped as well which led them to reach out to us here as they knew her happiness was diminishing as her world closed in and the things she once loved to do, they could no longer provide her with. She was LOVED immensely in her prior home, and their LOVE for her pushed them to let go of their sweet girl so she can once again find her JOY ❤️ She is PHENOMENAL with other animals. Dogs, cats, chickens, and horses! She was raised with them all! She is WONDERFUL with men, women, and children once she opens her heart to them and knows they are there to love her 💕 She is GREAT on road trips, and LOVES any length of drives so if you travel and want her to always be a part of that journey she will happily join you on every venture you take ☺️ She LOVES her spa days with our groomer, and has been excellent on the table since day one. She is very well mannered in the home. She is NOT a barker at all. She is very quiet. and serene tempered. She is an absolute gem and one you'll want to call yours at the end of every day ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Her adoption fee is on our website at breadoflifek9refuge.org under her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/libby. It covers her spay, general anesthesia, vaccines, microchip/registration, her dental exam, her antibiotic shot that was given to aid in the healing of her spay and her overall physical exam with our vet. As always; her adoption fee also goes back into the months of care she has recieved in the time she has been here with us, and the training we have personally done with her ❤️
