Story
Hello. I'm RINALDO (Rio) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Ibizian Hound/Canaan Dog mix (Wadi dog)Age: 2 yrsGender: maleWeight: 33 lbsCountry of origin: OmanHighlights: loves affection, shy, easily trainable, sensitive, vigilant, curious, calm I am a good boy in the house and can be left on my own with no issues. Quite the gentleman actually. I ride exceptionally well in a car too.Rescued at the beginning of 2023 when I was about two months old, I was found alone on the streets in Oman with my two sisters struggling to survive. Our beautiful trio were taken in by a local rescuer who then noticed that my front legs were growing abnormally. A vet's visit confirmed that I needed surgery, ulnar osteotomy on each forelimb, which was done in August 2023 and I recovered well. Then, in May 2024, I started limping, so I had a second surgery on both legs to repair them again. Now, I'm in a different foster home where I am recovering very well. Here is a new vid show my progress and improvement this far: https://youtube.com/shorts/fypzHrGGREE.Though my nature is one of shy nervousness with strangers (I may nervous growl talk at first, but never any aggression), once I get to know and trust you, I am happy, happy, joy, joy for affection. You'll be amazed what a quick learner I am too.Despite startling easily (though improving), I am really a calm kinda guy. I just lack confidence yet is all, thus I am ever vigilant. With gentle reassurance, I feel safe and relax. Time will be the biggest factor for me to learn to feel secure.I am currently in a foster home with two female dogs who I adore. I would really benefit from a home with other dogs, as I really enjoy their company. My first foster home had cats and I ignored them, so they should be okay fur siblings too. I haven't experience with young children, but older dog savvy kids should be fine.If I had to say a best home for me, it would be with a family who is patient and kind, allowing me time to adjust. Ideally, with a doggie sibling(s.) Having a yard would be really spectacular and maybe in a more rural or quiet location.I am completing my healing presently and should be ready to wing my way to you soon. I am currently in a cast, but it doesn't slow me down any.The vet has stated the right leg correction greatly helped my elbow and posture and the same is hoped for my healing left leg. I do have a plate in each leg. He stated this has fixed things, but I should be evaluated again at a later date to see if anything further can/should be done, but at this point, I'm good. The surgery they did was called a radius and ulna valgus repair (osteotomy.)I am such a good boy, I really hope you see my lovely spirit within. Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, but lived with them before, so highly likelyKids: unknown Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: a little. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: currently in a cast until fully healedI have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2251004##

Story
Introducing the elegant Miss Oreo! This sweet girl and her sister were rescued as tiny pups.  Found shivering and huddled together on a rainy day in a drain well.  The rescuers dogs alerted her to them and she quickly scooped them up likely saving their lives.  They were immediately brought to the Vet and miraculously were in good health. Brought up to date on all their necessary vaccines etc..  Oreo has absolutely thrived and is now ready to meet her forever people and go home! Oreo is initially shy, but with encouragement quickly overcomes her initial reservation and turns into the sweet, affectionate girl she really is. She gets along fabulouisly with other dogs and makes a new friend with everyone person she meets, whether big or small. She's calm and easygoing, perfect for snuggles on the couch for a cozy night in.  She loves her walks however, and would love to show off her love for adventure and her natural athleticism!  She'd partner perfectly with a family or someone who loves a good weekend hike! Oreo was given a second chance at life.  Will you be the fortunate person or family to offer her the security and affection she needs?  In return, she'll be the most loyal companion dog who will in turn, share her affection and devotion. VETTING: Fully vaccinated Neutered/Spayed Dewormed SNAP 4Dx negative (Heartworm, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma) Flea/tick/heartworm prevention No known medical issues or injuries PLEASE NOTE: Oreo is currently in Mexico. There will be a $235 fee for transportation to BC. This will be discussed upon approval. ##2228742##
