You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there, I'm Trudy, a very timid and shy Cocker Spaniel. I'm only 2 years old and weigh about 20 pounds. Life has been a little overwhelming for me, so I'm still learning to feel safe and loved in a home. I'm a bit of an anxious girl, and loud noises or sudden movements can startle me. I tend to pace and pant both inside and outside, and I get especially scared around doors. I might freeze or even fear pee when someone tries to pick me up, but I'm slowly getting better with time and patience. When I'm in a new place, like the vet or a busy area, I might shake and feel very scared, so a calm and quiet environment is best for me. I'm not potty trained yet, but I'm working on it, and I'm also getting used to my crate, though I can be a bit restless. I recently started taking treats from my foster's hand, which is a big step for me! One thing you should know is that I absolutely love being around other dogs. They help me feel safe, and I rely on them to show me that everything is okay. That's why I need to be in a home with at least one other dog that is confident and social around people. I don't have any experience with leashes, so a fenced yard is required in my forever home. A fenced yard will also keep me safe as I am a flight risk. I'm very sensitive to loud noises, thunderstorms, and even some men, so I'd do best in a home without children and with a kind, patient person or family. Despite my fears, I have a lot of love to give. In the mornings, I do a little happy dance with my wagging stub, which is my special way of showing joy. I'm learning about home life, and with your love, patience, and understanding, I know I can become the sweet, loving companion you've been looking for. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, I’m Mead! I’m a 6-year-old English Cocker Spaniel, and I weigh 35 pounds of pure happiness and energy! I’m a playful, curious girl who’s always up for fun and ready to bring joy into your life. My absolute favorite thing in the whole world? Belly rubs! Seriously, I’ll nudge you every chance I get because belly rubs are life. When I’m not asking for rubs, I’m exploring, playing, or enjoying some of my favorite snacks. Sardines, cheese, apples, pickles—you name it, I love it! I also adore chewy treats like beef tendons and chasing after toys. Oh, and when I’m in the yard, I love galloping around, sniffing out bunnies, and (just once!) bringing back a mouse—oops! I’m a dream in my kennel, happy to snooze as long as I’m near my humans. I’m potty-trained, crate-trained, and learning to calm myself down when it’s mealtime. I’ve got some basic commands down, like “sit,” “come,” “kennel,” and “leave it,” and I’m eager to keep learning. Leash walking? Well, I’m working on it. I get excited and like to move faster than the other dogs in the pack, so I’ll need someone committed to walks or even jogs a few times a week. A fenced yard would be perfect for me—I love the freedom to explore and zoom around. I’m friendly with other dogs and people of all ages, though I prefer older kids (8 and up) who’ll appreciate my playful energy. I’m also totally fine being the only dog, as long as my humans are ready to give me plenty of attention. Vacuum cleaners? Not a fan. I’ll leave the room while you clean, but hey, nobody’s perfect! Here’s the deal: I’m sweet, energetic, and eager to please. Whether it’s exercising, cuddling, or just hanging out, I’ll be your loyal companion through it all. If you let me, I’d love nothing more than to curl up next to you at night. Bring me into your life, and I’ll reward you with love, laughs, and endless belly rub requests. Love, Mead *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Story
Hello, my name is Deacon, but I am affectionately known as “Puppy” to my foster family. I am a 5-month-old 11-pound, male, Cavapoo.I have one brilliant blue eye and one blue in the corner and mostly brown eye. My fosters say I am adorable and love me so much, but who doesn’t love a puppy! I was recently neutered and am healing well. I still have most of my puppy teeth and boy are they sharp, although I don’t bite. I do like to play gnaw on hands and fingers, if you let me, to soothe myself and teethe. If you don’t want me to, I am totally ok with that and am easily redirected. I have a mixed personality; I am a little shy and skittish but can also be adventurous. An example is I am still afraid to explore into new rooms inmy foster home, but if I somehow muster up the courage, I  might start investigating things, until I see my foster parents checking in on me and then I bolt back to my safe zone on the couch! I think as I continue to gainsecurity and love from my forever family, I will come more out of my shell, but I will likely never be a super brave pup. I love other dogs, but I am small, so a gentle giant or other dog that is not too rambunctious would be best. I also would do fine as an only dog. I do need a fair amount of attention from my people, as I build my confidence and grow up. I am 95% potty trained, and I have never soiled my crate. I sleep in my foster parent’s room at night in my crate. I sleep quietly through the night, but I might whine just a few times when I initially go in but I settle right down. I love my soft puppy chow, mixed with some kibble. I’m not a big fan of dog treats, but I do love cheese!! I like small, soft toys, but I’m not yet a fan of balls or other chew toys. I am learning to walk with a leash andwould do best with a harness vs us pulling at each other on a collar (and my windpipe). I am a dog that requires a lifelong commitment to grooming. I have fuzzy, fluffy fur that is beautiful, but does need regular baths and trims. I don’t have dew claws, which my fosters say is a real plus. I am really a smart dog and have learned to come, when they call, “puppy” and I have learned sit. I would love to go to training with my forever family and learn more of the basics and get more socialized with other dogs. I do live with my 3 foster family dogs now. I am not much of a barker; I think I have only barked a few times in the month with my fosters and go days with no bark at all. I love my fenced yard, it’s so much freedom and offers so much exploration, but a fenced yard wouldn’t be a requirement, if you promise to take me for walks each day. What is most critical is that my forever family really understands my personality and my needs to ensure that we are together for my entire life. This is the job of my foster family and we’re both lucky to have someone to ensure we’re a match. If I sound like the guy you’ve been searching for, please complete an application with as much detail as possible, so my foster parents can get to know you.I can’t wait to have my very own forever family! I will be a really great addition to your life and love you unconditionally. Love, Deacon If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website.  All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.  The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. ##2211499##
