To thrive, Chico requires a single-pet, adult-only household with a dog-savvy owner. Predictability: He loves routine and thrives in low-traffic homes. Personal Space: Chico has a bite history linked to fear triggers (visitors, being startled, other dogs, if someone tries to take his food, being in the car ). He requires his quiet time in the evenings, leave him to be/rest No Other Pets: Due to dog aggression and resource guarding, he must be the only animal in the home. Does not get along w/other animals & is aggressive Minimal Travel: Car rides are stressful for him and trigger reactivity. He is crate-trained and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement. Meet Mr. Scruffy-Heartthrob (AKA Henry) This 40lb bundle of joy is 1–2 years old, full of love, and always ready for fun! With his soulful eyes and handsome beard, he’s basically a walking teddy bear who also doubles as your future adventure buddy. The Details: • Loves people and has done great with respectful kids • Seems to be a potty-trained pro (no accidents at his foster home!) • Would probably LOVE a playful dog sibling (seriously—play is his love language!) • Not a fan of crates, so he’s hoping for a home where someone’s around or can send him to daycare • Can be vocal when left alone → best fit is a house (no shared walls) with a fenced yard • Cats? He’d probably pester them trying to play He’s looking for an active, fun-loving family who will embrace his goofy, affectionate, and adventurous spirit. Whether it’s hiking trails, playing fetch, or zoomies in the backyard—he’s your guy. Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Female only household Kenny would do best in a home with only female owners. He is calm, cuddy, and playful with his current female owner. However, he is fearful and barks and cowers from his male owner. He has bitten the male owner once. We don't know his history, but he seems very distressed whenever his male owner is home.  This behavior has been exclusive to the home and he is fine with the male owner out of the home. He plays well with other dogs at daycare and loves his cat companions. He would do well in a home with other animals. Kenny clearly had never lived in a home before we adopted him. He is quickly adjusting to so many new things. He learns very quickly and is eager to please. He is now housebroken, walks well, is a great running and hiking buddy, and loves to cuddle on the couch. He picks up commands readily and is excited to engage in training and playing fetch. He does well meeting both male and female strangers on walks. He hasn't shown any aggression or concerning behaviors towards strangers in social settings. We want him to find a home situation where he can be calm and comfortable, without fear. He can be very vocal so probably not best for an apartment.   Age: 2 years Weight: 30 lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, cats and women, men outside the home, older respectful kids Training: Housetrained, has some basic training, walks well on leash, knows commands, Sit, down, leave it, off, under, back up .  Has kennel stress so no crate Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions:    http://hollyjburchfield@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review.
