Story
We are seeking a new home for the dog my son discovered last winter, as our circumstances have changed. He has received his rabies vaccinations and coexists peacefully with cats. Unfortunately, my son military duties and my work schedule prevent us from providing the necessary care. He is a well-behaved and calm companion but may initially appear apprehensive until he warms up. Initially, he displayed signs of abuse and required time to trust us. Our goal is to ensure he finds a loving family where he can thrive. He just got neutered on Nov 6th 2024

  ***DFW area only-No Exceptions***   Maizie is a ~3 month old puppy (as of 11/9/24) who arrived at LHS as a three week old baby after being handed to a woman by a stranger at a local Walmart. After the shock wore off, the woman who was given the puppy took her to the shelter for help. Maizie is a sweet girl who likes to play and nap. She loves to be petted, especially belly rubs, and is very affectionate. Maizie is a sun bather and is loving this fall weather combined with warm sunshine! She enjoys playing with her foster sisters in the yard and inside. We believe she would do well with other doggie friends or alone as she is equally comfortable alone as with the other dogs in the home. She loves a good, fuzzy, comfy bed, crinkle toys and chew toys! She’s doing well with potty training. Puppies at this age will require patience and training to become the best pup they can be.   Current weight 25 lbs Projected weight 60+ Crate training:  crate trained   We are requesting a donation of $325 for the adoption which includes her spay, three rounds of puppy vaccines, a rabies vaccine, microchip with registration, dewormer and a single dose of heartworm preventative. We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. If you're interested in meeting or adopting her, please complete an application on our website and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours.  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/   Adopter will take the puppy to an LHS approved vet to be spayed in December of 2024 per the spay/neuter agreement and in accordance to Chapter 828, Texas Health and Safety Code.  *Due to the high volume of applications and inquires for puppies as well as vetting needs, we will not be able to respond to or consider interest from those outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted.
