Story
Here is some information to help find the perfect Furever Home for Buck:
Age: ~13/14 months (as of 9/15/24)
Weight: 30-35 lbs
DNA Results:
46% Border Collie (energy)
25% Cattle Dog (herding instinct)
8% Chihuahua (small dog,not likely to grow anymore)
7% Australian Shepherd
Buck is:
1) Kennel trained: sleeps in a kennel. Has slept outside of a kennel, on a dog bed, when other dogs are around.
2) House trained: and knows how to use a doggie door
3) Leash trained/martingale collar: he's still learning but has steadily improved to 80% leash trained.
4) Knows basic commands: wait, sit, down, get the ball, drop the ball, stay.
5) Great in the car (with his harness and seat belt clip)
6) Perfect for an Adult only home; no small/young kids. He would be truly happy with a single adult or couple who like to run.
Buck has a strong herding instinct. He needs a job. He would be so happy on a farm, ranch setting where he could run all day--Ontario, Temecula, Murrietta areas?
He really enjoys the company of other dogs (No info on cats). He's been with both small and huge dogs. He is very happy with 1 or more dogs in the home, which also gives him a lot of activity.
He loves walks and ball & frisbee play.
He would be perfect for an adult who'd enjoy an agility dog, for competition: He is very smart and figures puzzle games and ball games out quickly. He runs and jumps in the air for balls, frisbees.

Do NOT call to ask if this puppy is available for adoption. If this listing is still posted then we are still accepting applications. Please read the narrative in its entirety. Please note our adoption procedures are explained in GREAT DETAIL BELOW. READ, READ, READ. Thank You. . . . . The best match will be selected and contacted to confirm an appointment at Petsmart in Yorba Linda on Saturday between noon and 3 pm or on a mutually agreeable day, time and place. We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog, please visit our website to complete an adoption application. It is in the ADOPTION folder at the top of our home page. Just fill in the blanks and SEND.
The adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, core vaccinations including rabies and 4 sets of distemper/parvo and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc.
Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. This is a great article from 3LostDogs that explains the trials and tribulations of puppyhood: http://3lostdogs.com/things-wish-everyone-knew-before-they-get-dog-2/
