Story
*TOMMY* / 11 weeks old, male lab mix / temporary special needs
Tommy will need a leg amputation when he is 4-5 months old (front right leg), which will be around Christmas time, and then about 6 weeks recovery. ALL of Tommy’s medical care is covered by Second Chance Dog Rescue. This includes his amputation surgery, vaccinations, neuter, follow-ups, everything!
Tommy is a little fighter with a heart as big as Texas. This 11 week-old pup was found with his littermates, dumped on the side of the road in heartbreaking distress at just 7 wks old, and two had been hit by a car. A kind neighbor discovered them, but sadly, one of his siblings didn’t make it. Tommy survived—but not without scars. His tiny arm was shattered and will need to be amputated when he’s four months old.
It's so sad for us humans to hear things like this, especially about a puppy, but I'll tell you--Tommy is not sad at all! He's just a sweet, playful puppy. And after his surgery, he'll join the ranks of so many other tripod pups out there who are thriving and perfectfully happy to run around and play with three legs.

Tommy’s start in life has been unimaginably tough. Someone let him down, but we refuse to let his story end this way. He’s full of love, courage, and hope, and he’s searching for a hero to help him rewrite his narrative—a hero who will show him what a life filled with care and compassion truly means.
**Here’s the amazing part: ALL of Tommy’s medical care is covered by Second Chance Dog Rescue.** This includes his amputation surgery, vaccinations, neuter, follow-ups, everything! We just need a kind-hearted adopter or foster to step forward and give Tommy the safe, loving home he deserves.
If adopting isn’t possible, you can still help by becoming a sponsor for Tommy’s care. Every dollar makes a difference in his journey to recovery and finding his forever family.
Tommy may have been given the short end of the stick, but together, we can help him thrive. Let’s come together as a community and give Tommy the second chance he so desperately needs.
Currently, Tommy is with a medical foster until he gets adopted or until he recovers from surgery.
Let’s rally for Tommy and make his story one of hope, love, and triumph. He’s counting on us! 🐶❤️
