Meet Elmer! If you`re looking for a sweet hound companion, you`ve found him! Elmer walks well on a leash and really enjoys walking on trails. No surprise, he leads with his nose and is in heaven when you let him take his time to sniff and explore. He is picky about his treats and would rather take them from the ground than your hand. Elmer is playful and loves to chase after squeaky toys and tennis balls. He likes to play fetch but may sometimes forget to give back the toy. He may come off as aloof before he knows you, but will be curled up next to you on your couch in no time. Elmer is a great choice for any family. Come in and meet him today!

Meet Luca! Luca is a wonderful dog who has just the perfect balance of chill and play. He currently lives with 2 other dogs in his foster home. Luca is great in the car and enjoys rides, walks and his chew bones. Luca does need two 20 minute walks a day. He walks really well on a leash with regular stops for hound sniffing! Luca is a great communicator. He lets you know what he wants when he wants it and is extremely happy with himself when he gets his point across. He does have the most enthusiastic and spirited howl to let you know if you are taking too long to get his food in the bowl or talking to someone else too long on his walks 😂 Luca will scratch on the door when he wants to go in and out or is known to dump the leash and toy baskets on the floor to let you know it’s time to go! His foster has learned to keep counters clear for he does have a great sense of smell with a body that can reach great distances. He LOVES attention and has a VERY sweet temperament! Luca is such a great dog you just can’t help but fall in love with him.   If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is.  This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before.   Barney is the kind of dog that makes people stop mid-sentence and say, “Now that is a Bloodhound.” Born May 20, 2025, he’s still very much a baby at heart—even if that baby already weighs 75 pounds and is expected to grow well past 100 as he matures. Big, goofy, gentle, and full of personality, Barney is as sweet as he is stunning.   He has the perfect mix of playful energy and laidback charm. One minute he’s romping around the house with his tiny Parsons Russell Terrier girlfriend like a clumsy, oversized puppy playing hide and seek, and the next he’s sprawled across the floor looking completely content with life. Watching the two of them wrestle and chase each other is pure comedy and proof that best friends don’t have to come in matching sizes.   Barney is fully house trained and has wonderful manners in the home. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and is perfectly comfortable with cats. His long ears are still growing into him, his rich crimson coat shines, and he is healthy, strong, and thriving. He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccinations.   Despite his future “small pony” size, Barney believes he belongs as close to his person as possible. Lap dog may not be realistic, but resting his big hound head on your shoulder absolutely is. He wants to be wherever you are and would happily ride shotgun for every errand, road trip, or adventure you can dream up.   Because of his size and hound instincts, Barney will need a fenced yard or plenty of safe space where he can stretch those long legs and explore. More than anything, he wants a person to call his own—a sidekick for life. Bring Barney home and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without a Bloodhound.
