Story
Meet Dozer: The Sweet and Playful Foxhound/Coonhound Mix Dozer is a 4-year-old Foxhound and English Coonhound mix who currently weighs 45 pounds of love and fun! This sweet boy is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, ready to join a new family. Though Dozer’s past may not have been the best, it certainly hasn’t stopped him from being a loving, friendly companion. He’s learning what it means to be part of a family and absolutely thrives on affection. Dozer loves cuddling on the couch with his foster family, and he’s always ready for a good petting session. But don't let his sweet demeanor fool you – this boy also has plenty of energy! He’s just starting to embrace playtime and is discovering how to interact with humans and other dogs in a fun, positive way. You’ll likely need to help him learn the ropes, but it’s part of his journey. Dozer is house and crate trained, making him a great addition to any home. He has lived with a cat and gets along well with them. Though he doesn’t live with children, his interactions during adoption events suggest that he would do just fine with them. Dozer is looking for a loving family that will continue to guide him as he grows and thrives. If you’re ready for an affectionate, energetic companion, Dozer may just be your perfect match! Is your family ready to welcome this lovable boy into your home? If you are interested in adopting Dozer, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **  March 4, 2025, 2:04 pm

Story
Contact foster at hlheller@gmail.comHey there, I’m Shylo! I’m a goofy, fun-loving Redtick Coonhound with a heart full of love and a nose ready for adventure! If you’re looking for a sweet and playful companion who adores people, then we just might be a perfect match.I’m currently in a foster home with two other dogs and a small child, and I love having playmates—both the furry and human kind! I do great in my crate when my foster family is out, but when they’re home, I’m ready to go! I have lots of energy and need daily exercise, so I’d love a home with a fenced yard or land where I can sniff, run, and explore. Apartment life? No thanks! I need space to stretch my legs and be my goofy, bouncy self.I’m working on my basic training and learning good manners, but I can be a little stubborn sometimes (hey, I’m a hound—we like to do things our way!). I also need some help remembering personal space—what can I say? I just want to be close to my people! With patience and consistency, I’ll be the best boy I can be.After a fun-filled day of play, I love curling up for some snuggles and a blanket. I promise to keep you laughing with my silly antics and show you unconditional love.If you’re ready for an energetic, affectionate best friend, I’d love to meet you! Let’s go on adventures together

Story
I’m Bibby, a dashing Treeing Walker Coonhound/terrier mix with a big personality that will keep you always entertained.I came to the Humane Society of York County from York County Animal Services, where I had been surrendered by my owners. My estimated birth date is June 2020.Sadly, I haven’t experienced stability in my life, which can make me wary when I meet new people. I just need a little extra time to get to know you, and then you’ll find out I’m a serious love bug, very sweet and affectionate.I’m the sporty type – I love being out in nature and I love water. There’s nothing like a good hike with my people. I’m a true companion dog! (But don’t get me wrong, lounging on the couch sounds wonderful, too.)I’m a big, high-energy boy (about 65 to 70 pounds), so I would do best in a home with no small children and no other pets. I would love to have an active family that would help me manage my energy. I love to be on the go exploring, and a fenced yard would be a big plus.If you’re looking for an affectionate hunk who will always be ready for adventure with you, we need to meet!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.
