Story
Rough and tumble guy looking for a forever home.  My perfect bestie wants to go hiking, swim in the pond, play ball or frisbee, and take long rides in the car.  I’m craving adventure as I’ve been here at rescue way too long and I’m soooo bored.  I like other dogs but please, I hate dog parties so don’t make me go. Kids are not a good idea for me because I’m a big active guy. No cats please because I am not a fan. Yes, I need a lot of activity and a large fenced yard is needed. I love to be outdoors and I know there is a country home out there with acres an acres just waiting for me. Apply for consideration to adopt me at www.rdrne.org. You must be at least 25 years of age, live within a 5-hour driving radius of Thompson PA. We check veterinary references and require all pets within the home to be spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and maintained on heartworm and flea & tick preventatives. ##1323762##

Story
Name: KnuckleheadNickname: Knucklebutt, NoodlehoundPreferences: Would do best with older kids (jumpy guy), seems to like dogs, needs cat testReason for being at BCHS: Was an unclaimed stray Meet Knucklehead—a name so fitting, we’re honestly surprised he responds to anything else! This big, goofy coonhound mix is the definition of lovable chaos, and he’s ready to bring his signature brand of hilarious antics to his forever home. Like any good coonhound, Knucklehead comes equipped with a big voice, an even bigger personality, and enough energy to power a small town. If you’ve never met a coonhound before, just imagine a dog that thinks with his nose first, legs second, and brain… well, eventually. They’re curious, stubborn, ridiculously affectionate, and always down for an adventure (even if that adventure is just chasing a particularly interesting leaf). Knucklehead came to us as a stray, so his past is a mystery, but one thing is clear—he’s never met a stranger he didn’t like. He seems to do well with other dogs, though we still need to check if he thinks cats are friends or something to be chased at top speed. Because he’s a big, bouncy guy who sometimes forgets how large he is, we recommend a home with older, dog-savvy kids who won’t be caught off guard by his enthusiastic greetings. If you’re looking for a hilarious, loving, slightly ridiculous best friend who will keep you entertained for years to come, Knucklehead is your guy. Just be prepared for some very loud opinions, some questionable decision-making, and a whole lot of love. Come meet him and see if you’re ready for the wonderful madness that is Knucklehead!
