Story
A friend of a friend had requested I help with rehoming Chop he is 4 years old and from what we think he is a English bull dog/Pitbull mix. The previous owners seemed to not want him anymore and were neglecting him by keeping him in a cage all the time. Seems he hasn't been loved but is super friendly and likes to play. Only down fall is he is not used to cats and so he thinks they are toys/prey and tries to hunt them, would recommend not being around cats. He is great with dogs but would be better in a whole along or with 1 other dog so he can get the attention he hasn't had. Always super happy and loves a plushy toy!

Story
Poor Penelope was found by a Good Samaritan after she was abandoned at a dump. She is a sweet dog who loves being around people. We have not heard her bark but she does occasionally sing! She is also completely clean in her kennel run and never goes the bathroom until she is outside. Penelope would be a great companion whether you like to take walks or cuddle and watch TV - she is up for both! Thank you for your interest in Penelope AB! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=18102 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Penelope AB, or to submit an online application. Story
This gal and brothers were found on the side of the road. This is a wonderful group! They do not bark unless playing and just like to have a fun time! They are very friendly and get along with everyone. Yuki has a little spark in her from having to deal with her brothers all of the time. She is very sweet but can hold her own when needed. They will need all the basic puppy training with everything that comes with it. She is a wonderful pup who would make a great addition to any family. She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Brief Description: This is "Pudge." What you see is what you get...easy going, calm, well...lazy. :) Likes: Being a couch potato, chewing on Nylabones, eating, sleeping...he's a guy with simple pleasures. Dislikes: Having is nails clipped. Having to wait more than 30 seconds for his food when it's being prepared. Personality: Calm. Chill. Quiet (except when food is being prepared for him). Can be stubborn! Temperament: Laid back. Not much upsets or excites Pudge. Energy level: None. Favorite activities: EATING! Watching TV on the couch with his human while he chews a bone. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Cats: unknown; Dogs: great - no issues; Kids: unknown but suspect he would be absolutely fine. Haven't found anything so far Pudge isn't good with. He doesn't particularly care to have his nails clipped or baths but he tolerates both. House trained: Working on it and making good progress. It is uncertain where Pudge came from and/or if he's ever been house trained so, therefore, he was started from scratch and he's come a long way. With a consistent schedule and time to adjust he should do well. Crate trained: YES! Pudge loves his crate. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence?): No. Walks well on a leash?: When he wants to. Pudge doesn't pull or fight. He just won't walk with his human if it's not where he wants to go. Been working on that and he's doing much better. Challenges: Getting him to socialize more with people and pets. Pudge mostly keeps to himself. He is starting to make attempts to play with the other dogs and humans here and there but needs encouragement. Pudge will need lots of encouragement to get any exercise. Any medical issues?:  Pudge is currently being treated for a persistent skin infection secondary to suspected allergies. He is much improved from when he first arrived. Pudge has recovered well from recent bilateral entropion. Eye irritation and drainage is markedly decreased since the surgery. Pudge has been on a long-term antibiotic treatment and, as a result, he has been having persistent soft stools, however, it's been controlled with feeding Science Diet I/D food and Pepto-Bismol. What would be the best kind of home?:  Pudge would be perfectly happy to be an only dog getting all the attention lavished upon him; however, he is also fine with the other dogs in the household. Pudge is ideal for someone who wants a calm, easy going companion. He is not a hiking, running, or hunting dog by any means.  Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit.
