Story
Sarge arrived at NCCR on 5/18/24, impounded by the local DCO. Now he is looking for a forever family of his own that will give him the love and commitment he deserves! Sarge is an approximately 7-year-old neutered male Bulldog mix. He gets along with most other dogs, and is very friendly toward people. Sarge even knows some basic commands, and seems to be house trained.  More info to come as we get to know him better! If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an  Adoption Application found at caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you.   If you have a question, please email your question to adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in. *PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them. NYS Registration #RR028

Story
Quinn arrived at NCCR on 11/6/24 after being found roaming stray and frightened in a neighboring town. She appeared to have had puppies recently, and seemed to still have a healing c-section scar – it is suspected that she was dumped when her puppies no longer needed their mom. Since no one came forward to claim her, Quinn is now looking for a loving forever family of her own. She is an approximately 2–3-year-old female, believed to be an English Bulldog mix. Quinn is apprehensive and somewhat defensive with strangers, both people and dogs, but warms up quite quickly once she sees they mean her no harm. A little sweet talk and a few treats go a long way to win her over! Quinn is an affectionate cuddler who can’t get enough attention and belly rubs. She may take a little longer to feel safe and comfortable with new acquaintances, but once she does, you’ll have a devoted best friend for life! More info to come as we get to know her better. Story
Cheers, lovelies! I’m Harper, your very own English Bulldog, here to charm your socks off with my warm heart and waggly little tail. I may be a sprightly seven years old, but don’t go thinking that makes me an old girl—oh no! I've got plenty of pep in these paws, though I do enjoy a good snooze on a comfy bed now and then. I suppose you could call me a lady of refined tastes. Now, let’s talk about manners. I’ve got them in spades! I’m ever so friendly with all sorts—dogs, cats, people; you name it, I’ll be their chum. You won’t catch me barking up a fuss or causing a scene. I’m the sort who likes harmony, a real peacemaker, if you will. And I’ve been told I’m quite the treasure, bringing warmth and calm wherever I go, like a proper English cuppa on a chilly afternoon. And here’s a little something extra to look forward to: I’m getting my teeth polished up for a proper British smile! Once my dental’s done, I’ll be grinning from ear to ear, ready to greet you with the brightest, friendliest smile you ever did see. A lady should always be presentable, and I do take pride in a tidy appearance. If you’re seeking a loyal companion for gentle strolls, quiet evenings, and perhaps a bit of telly-watching together, I’m your girl. I’ll happily lounge by your side, content just to be near you, offering my warm presence like a cozy fireside on a drizzly day. We English Bulldogs are known for our devotion, you see, and I’m no exception. So, what do you say, dear? Ready to make a sweet English lady part of your family? I’m here, waiting with open paws, and ever so eager to be your loyal friend for life. Let’s make it official, shall we? Harper's adoption fee is $275.
