Story
(DOB 06/17/2022) If going for a peaceful walk (he walks great on a leash) and then relaxing at home is your idea of a great way to spend your day, Grayson is your guy. He’s the perfect combination of playful and chill. After a good walk and some mild play in the back yard, he’s ready to lay on the couch and be with his humans. His greatest joy is to just be near those he loves, leaning into your legs when sitting on the floor or next to you to you on the couch. Grayson is a gentle and extremely sweet boy.  He’s a very gentle dog who listens well and learns fairly quickly, especially if treats are involved. Grayson needs his forever human to spoil him! So do you want a more chill dog; well, here you go, because Grayson isn't trying to win any frisbee contests! He will; however, win first-place in snuggling every time! He has been good with children, other dogs, and cats in his foster home. His playtime w/his 4-legged foster siblings can be a bit rough and tumble at times, so best to have him with dogs his size and strength. He is a little on the shy side with strangers, but warms up quickly. We are seeing his wonderful personality emerge. He can be a little skittish when it’s really noisy or too many people are jumping or running around, so he would probably do best in a calmer home. If children are in the home, he would likely do best with older children who are dog experienced due to his size. Grayson, even though super sweet and affectionate, we don't think he is the perfect match for a 1st time dog person. He could still use someone who is confident and help guide him through new life experiences. Grayson wants a wonderful secure 5ft+ fenced in back yard. Grayson says, no dog parks for him; just not his jam. Grayson is house-trained and crate trained. He sleeps through the night. He has some resource guarding of food with other dogs, so is fed separately, in crate. He does not resource guard food or other things with humans.  If you’re looking for a sweet, tender-hearted dog to add to your family, Grayson checks a lot of great boxes with the potential to check them all. He has beautiful brindle markings that sparkle in the sun and his big brown eyes will melt your heart. He is ready to begin sharing his love with you!! As part of Grayson's $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Grayson, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1708175##

Story
(DOB 07/16/2021) Baylor is heartworm positive, but don't let that stop you from adopting this amazing girl. Our rescue will pay for her treatment. She is adoptable within 1 hour of Wake Forest, NC during her treatment period. Want a dog that is "easy to please" then look no further than Baylor. She’s a goofy girl FULL of happiness and doesn’t stop smiling. It doesn’t take much to appease her. Other than needing a somewhat active lifestyle, there isn't much she isn't happy "just" doing. She enjoys playing with people and other dogs and finds friends with ease! She enjoys both daily walks and is good on a leash as well as romp at doggie day care with her 4-legged friends. She would be happy with a kid in the home that would spend time playing in the yard (fetch and bit of tug-o-war) with her as well. Whatever it is, Baylor will roll with it. She's even good with cats!! Baylor would probably do best with another dog to play with but can acclimate as an only dog if she’s exercised enough. With that said, she could be a fit for a condo, townhome or apartment as she does not require a fenced in yard with the promise there is plenty of fun time each and every day. Speaking of playtime, Baylor loves toys of any kind and finds extra joy in destroying those fluffy filled ones...hee hee! So, other tougher toys are a better bang for the buck! While she does like to cuddle, she’s not super lazy so definitely needs a way to get some energy out. You know what else she loves - CAR RIDES! Yep, that's a fun activity, and Baylor is happy to hop in and join you for your daily errands, coffee run, or off to a hike somewhere. She is very social and loves everyone she meets. She attracks strangers with her great smile and happy-go-lucky pep in her step.  She is happy to sleep in her doggie bed or cot and doesn't require being crated - note she is crate trained. She really is a gem of a girl. Don't miss the opportunity to be her lifetime love! As part of Baylor’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Baylor, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2131283##

Story
(DOB 08/20/2022) Flower adores playtime (see her with one of her best friends), loves running around in a fenced-in yard, and gets along well with other dogs, making her a great fit for a home with a playful canine friend. However, she’d also be perfectly happy as an only dog as long as her family gives her plenty of love and attention. One of her favorite past times is taking car rides  Are you a foodie? Well so is Flower; she’s also a foodie—mealtime is one of her favorite times of the day! Her love for food can easily help with her learning and training. She definitely has a desire to please and her love of the tasty treats of the world make her a wonderful training student!  Flower is a bit timid at first, but it does doesn’t take long for her to blossom into a snuggly, affectionate companion. She is crate trained, and doing great with her potty training. She’s ready to bring joy and lots of snuggles to her forever home! As part of Flower’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. River

Bulldog Pit Bull Terrier

Story
(DOB 7/23/2022) River would like to gently, slow and smoothly trickle into your life like a gentle stream. She has the kindest eyes that will shine in the sun and melt your heart. She does not have a mean bone in her body!! River loves soft, plush toys to play with and would love a family to spend time each day playing with her! She will share a big smile, a wiggly tail to show you how much fun she is having with you! River would do well in a home that has someone at home a good amount of the day; she'd make a good work from home partner. River is docile and unassertive and has a shier personality. She loves her furry foster family members and having another sweet and confident pup in her new home would be the ideal home life for sweet River. She loves her people but does take a little time to warm up; are you the kind of person that would give her a little bit of extra patience so you get the reward of being the love of her life! You won't be dissappointed in her loyalty and the amount of love she has to give! River needs a home with a fence. She doesn't love walking on a leash and will need time, lots of positive praise and yummy rewards when loud noises and cars zip by her.  She says just take your time and/or go on strolls in quieter places like a trail or the woods. So a good ole fenced in yard to hang out with her loveable family and furry siblings is what River is looking for. Since River is still learning that her new life will be safe, she can be a flight risk so a family that understands doors need to be watched, monitoring if outside in a fenced area and always walking on leash with a martingale collar are needed for this darling girl to remain safe and secure. She just needs time and patience and you will absolutely fall head over heals for this special, wonderful girl! Give this girl a chance and you won't be disappointed! As part of River’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt River, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1797066##

Story
(DOB 09/27/2019) If you want a gentle giant and you think wrinkles only make you cuter, then Ralphie is your boy. This sweet love bug wants nothing more than to be around his people. He has the cutest facial expressions to go along with his sweet, silly, loveable personality. He can pull out those big 'ole puppy-dog eyes like nobody's business. He loves other dogs and is happiest when he can be around other dogs. He is still a little shy around strangers and needs a chance to get to know them. He is working hard to come out of that shell, and once he gets to know you, he is very sweet and loving and will snort like a piggy when he's excited to see you! Ralphie likes to snuggle into his dog beds and surround himself with his toys. He is crate and house trained and is learning leash manners. Ralphie has a fenced yard at his foster home, but he does NOT need one at his furever home because he is perfectly happy hanging out inside with his people. While Ralphie is a very calm pup, he will speak his mind when he feels it is necessary! He is very food and treat motivated and knows how to sit. Ralphie hasn't met cats yet, but he is certainly willing to meet them and with his dog saavy personality, he may be the perfect fit with them too. He would do best in a home with older children/teenagers as little kids have a lot of energy for him and he is a bit shy for such young, boisterous personalities. As part of Ralphie’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Ralphie, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2204283##

Story
(DOB 09/12/2022) Rudy, the ultimate love bug with a zest for life! This fun-loving pup thrives in a home where he gets plenty of attention and affection. Rudy is a social butterfly who loves being surrounded by people and other dogs—he’s always up for a good time! Whether he's running around the yard with his foster brothers or playing fetch, Rudy's energy knows no bounds. When the day's adventures wind down, Rudy’s favorite spot is his dog run, where he can recharge for tomorrow's fun. No fence, no problem! Rudy is very happy hanging out inside with his people. He could be a good choice if you live in an apartment, condo or townhome. He has just as many happy moments just going on a long walk with his family, and of course, cuddling up and simply being with his favorite humans. Rudy is working on his loose leash walking skills and learning to be a gentleman while going for strolls with his people. You get the bonus of crate trained, house trained and just an alll around sweetheart with Rudy!! He loves everyone he meets and doesn't know the word stranger. He is good with kids so a "bigger" family would be good. Rudy would be happy with a home with another fun pup or he could be an only dog; he is pretty flexible. We aren't sure about cats as he hasn't an opportunity to meet any. Toys, playdates, and endless love—what more could Rudy ask for? He’s ready to bring his happy energy into the perfect home! As part of Rudy’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
