Story
(DOB 06/17/2022) If going for a peaceful walk (he walks great on a leash) and then relaxing at home is your idea of a great way to spend your day, Grayson is your guy. He’s the perfect combination of playful and chill. After a good walk and some mild play in the back yard, he’s ready to lay on the couch and be with his humans. His greatest joy is to just be near those he loves, leaning into your legs when sitting on the floor or next to you to you on the couch. Grayson is a gentle and extremely sweet boy.  He’s a very gentle dog who listens well and learns fairly quickly, especially if treats are involved. Grayson needs his forever human to spoil him! So do you want a more chill dog; well, here you go, because Grayson isn't trying to win any frisbee contests! He will; however, win first-place in snuggling every time! He has been good with children, other dogs, and cats in his foster home. His playtime w/his 4-legged foster siblings can be a bit rough and tumble at times, so best to have him with dogs his size and strength. He is a little on the shy side with strangers, but warms up quickly. We are seeing his wonderful personality emerge. He can be a little skittish when it’s really noisy or too many people are jumping or running around, so he would probably do best in a calmer home. If children are in the home, he would likely do best with older children who are dog experienced due to his size. Grayson, even though super sweet and affectionate, we don't think he is the perfect match for a 1st time dog person. He could still use someone who is confident and help guide him through new life experiences. Grayson wants a wonderful secure 5ft+ fenced in back yard. Grayson says, no dog parks for him; just not his jam. Grayson is house-trained and crate trained. He sleeps through the night. He has some resource guarding of food with other dogs, so is fed separately, in crate. He does not resource guard food or other things with humans.  If you’re looking for a sweet, tender-hearted dog to add to your family, Grayson checks a lot of great boxes with the potential to check them all. He has beautiful brindle markings that sparkle in the sun and his big brown eyes will melt your heart. He is ready to begin sharing his love with you!! As part of Grayson's $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Grayson, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1708175##

Story
(02/26/2022) Franky is the sweetest boy EVER!!  Franky really loves his humans = a bit of a velcro pup for sure! Franky has the best smile and his eyes squint in the sun...it's adorable. Frankly absolutely loves being outside in the fenced back yard. He would really, really love one in his fur-ever home. He looks forward to being outside numerous times throughout the day on leash (front yard, brief walks) and off leash (fenced backyard). He loves exploring, running, sunning and playing in the backyard, especially when one of his doggie friends join him. He is also happy just laying around outside and taking a bit of a sun bath. He hasn't mastered walking on a leash, so a family that has some members that are patient and can handle a strong pup on leash until he learns this and it becomes a routine for him.  Franky loves food related enrichment!! Any kind of enrichment toy that involves food is his favorite (kongs, lick mats, bento treat balls, etc.). He will occasionally chew on nylabones and that kind of thing. He also loves chew toys. Franky is food/treat motivated, so a very good way to continue fun training activities with him. He's easily redirected and eager to please is humans. Franky is already crate and house trained. "I’ve never met a better crate trained dog." Franky is happy to go night-night in his crate and be snuggled up and happy until the morning. So far, it seems like Frankly likes submissive dogs about his size. How the other dog reacts to him usually dictates the outcome. That being said, he is definitely interested in being social with our other dogs. They just need the proper introduction. So he could be in a home with other dogs or as an only dog with humans that would love and dote on him. Franky doesn’t have to have children in the home, but if there are then they should be sturdy and/or older because of his energy level. Plus, he still a little nippy and mouthy. He does have some anxiety and is currently on Trazadone, and he is perfectly fine.  As part of Franky's $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Franky, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2002260##

Story
(DOB 01/27/2024) This sweet, cute girl is looking for a happy, loving family with a fun and playful furry sibling! Shy would love a yard with a 4ft+ fence, so she and her 4-legged friend could romp and run and then relax in a spot of sun. Though a fenced yard would be great, it is NOT a 100% requirement for Shy's forever home. If you live in an apartment, condo, or townhome and have plenty of time for a few daily walks (and she is already pretty good on a leash), some good amount of playtime indoors, Shy should be fine. Shy isn't going to shy away from love, affection and belly rubs. Make sure you have "regularly shceduled" intervals throughout the day to spoil and love her! You, in turn, will be lavished with her sweet devotion.  Shy loves her food and can be a little to eager to dive right in so we recommend a slow-feeder bowl. She is already house and crate trained and would benefit from additional positive reinforcement training. Since she loves kibble and treats, it makes it all that more easy, fun, and enjoyable for all! At her age, she is still a little mouthy and nippy but should be growing out of that and continued redirection until that time is the best way to handle. Give that girl a fun toy, a tough chew, or something else to entertain her bright and young mind and mouth! Shy is good with all other dogs she has meet, is good with kids, but has not meet any kitties so far. She can be a little shy around some strangers but warms up with love and kindness. Just a little patience is needed and her big smile will soon be shared! Shy is a happy dog that loves to cuddle. She will come over and sit near you to see if you can hold her. We believe you won't be able to say "no" because she is so sweet and adorable! If you think she is as adorable as we do, then don't hesitate to put in an application today! As part of Shy’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Shy, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2149838##

Story
(DOB 07/16/2021) Baylor is heartworm positive, but don't let that stop you from adopting this amazing girl. Our rescue will pay for her treatment. She is adoptable within 1 hour of Wake Forest, NC during her treatment period. Want a dog that is "easy to please" then look no further than Baylor. She’s a goofy girl FULL of happiness and doesn’t stop smiling. It doesn’t take much to appease her. Other than needing a somewhat active lifestyle, there isn't much she isn't happy "just" doing. She enjoys playing with people and other dogs and finds friends with ease! She enjoys both daily walks and is good on a leash as well as romp at doggie day care with her 4-legged friends. She would be happy with a kid in the home that would spend time playing in the yard (fetch and bit of tug-o-war) with her as well. Whatever it is, Baylor will roll with it. She's even good with cats!! Baylor would probably do best with another dog to play with but can acclimate as an only dog if she’s exercised enough. With that said, she could be a fit for a condo, townhome or apartment as she does not require a fenced in yard with the promise there is plenty of fun time each and every day. Speaking of playtime, Baylor loves toys of any kind and finds extra joy in destroying those fluffy filled ones...hee hee! So, other tougher toys are a better bang for the buck! While she does like to cuddle, she’s not super lazy so definitely needs a way to get some energy out. You know what else she loves - CAR RIDES! Yep, that's a fun activity, and Baylor is happy to hop in and join you for your daily errands, coffee run, or off to a hike somewhere. She is very social and loves everyone she meets. She attracks strangers with her great smile and happy-go-lucky pep in her step.  She is happy to sleep in her doggie bed or cot and doesn't require being crated - note she is crate trained. She really is a gem of a girl. Don't miss the opportunity to be her lifetime love! As part of Baylor’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Baylor, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2131283##

Story
(DOB 08/20/2022) Flower adores playtime (see her with one of her best friends), loves running around in a fenced-in yard, and gets along well with other dogs, making her a great fit for a home with a playful canine friend. However, she’d also be perfectly happy as an only dog as long as her family gives her plenty of love and attention. One of her favorite past times is taking car rides  Are you a foodie? Well so is Flower; she’s also a foodie—mealtime is one of her favorite times of the day! Her love for food can easily help with her learning and training. She definitely has a desire to please and her love of the tasty treats of the world make her a wonderful training student!  Flower is a bit timid at first, but it does doesn’t take long for her to blossom into a snuggly, affectionate companion. She is crate trained, and doing great with her potty training. She’s ready to bring joy and lots of snuggles to her forever home! As part of Flower’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Story
(DOB 08/11/2023) Sweet Little Carson, the compact low-rider with a big heart and a whole lot of love to give! This little guy may be small in size, but he’s huge on personality! Carson is all about cuddles, snuggles, and spreading joy wherever he goes. He’s got the perfect mix of being good with other dogs and people, so you’ll never have to worry about him making friends because he is a bit of a social butterfly. But here’s the best part: Carson is a love enthusiast! He’s ready to wrap those little arms around you and give you a snuggle that’ll melt your heart. This pint-sized bundle of love is the perfect sidekick for any adventure—whether you’re taking a casual stroll, enjoying some playtime, or cruising around town. He’d make an excellent ride-along buddy, always up for a new journey and ready to make every moment a little sweeter. He’s well-mannered, potty trained, and walks like a pro on a leash—basically, he’s got all the good boy credentials! Whether you’re strolling through the park or just running errands, Carson is your ideal walking buddy, always by your side, ready to take on the world. He’s also a fan of the crate (no worries when you’re away!), but Carson does have a bit of separation anxiety—so a home where someone is around a lot, or a work-from-home setup, would be ideal for him. He’d love to be your constant companion! If you’re looking for a loyal buddy who just wants to be close and get all the attention, Carson is your guy. Carson loves other dogs and would enjoy a canine sibling to keep him company! He also been good with children, and he'd love one that is happy to share snacks with him (and let’s be real, who can resist those puppy eyes?). We’re still getting to know Carson’s feelings about cats. He’s seen a couple in passing and didn’t react much, so it’s hard to say for sure how he’d do in a home with them. If you have a cat, a careful introduction might be best! Looking for a dog who’s as sweet as he is adorable? Carson is ready to bring all the love, snuggles, and happiness you could ever need. Come meet this little charmer—you won’t be able to resist his big heart and even bigger hugs! As part of Carson’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Carson, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2177754##
