Story
Hey Everyone, unfortunately me and my wife have to make the Difficult Decision to Rehome Gizmo, he isn't fitting in aswell as we'd hope and unfortunately we have to find him a new home. A bit about Gizmo, he is 2 years old, Neutered, he's a Bulldog Mix and is very selective when it comes to meeting new people. He knows basic commands like sit, stay and Kennel, he loves to cuddle. He might need to be the only dog in the home, he hasn't been around small children so we don't know how he is with kids in a home, he is social outside of home when on walks and out in his training classes but again is very selective. We just want what's best for him. Let me know if anyone is interested. He will come with his kennel, leash, harness, bowls and his food container. Rehoming fee is 400 but willing to negotiate to ensure he goes to a good home. This includes all of his things aswell as his last 2 training classes of 6.

Story
Sasha, the reigning monarch of her foster castle, is a six-year-old English Bulldog with a heart as big as her adorable wrinkles. In her ideal home, she would prefer to assert her regal status as the one and only fur child. Sasha, having grown up in the presence of kiddos, exudes a gentle and amiable demeanor, making her a delightful companion for families with older kiddos. This bulldog queen is not just about regality; she's a playful soul who revels in the joy of games and companionship, especially with adults.  Sharing food or toys are not her strong suit so small children won't fit into her perfect royal court.  Sasha is clear about her preferences. Despite her love for play, she staunchly opposes the idea of donning costumes. Her royal attire is her natural coat, adorned with the charm of her unique bulldog features. In the vast expanse of her backyard kingdom, Sasha assumes the role of a distinguished grazer, exhibiting a talent that could rival that of a goat. Her leisurely grazing adds a touch of charm to the royal landscape, creating a picturesque scene though leads to a bit of a joker-like mess with clean up later. Sasha's journey to health has been marked by resilience and care. She has undergone soft palate surgery and had her saccules removed, emerging from these medical interventions remarkably healthy. Her well-being is a testament to the attentive care she receives in her temporary castle. As the queen of her realm, Sasha invites those who would appreciate her royal presence to share in the joy of her company. Her castle should be a haven of love, playfulness, and, of course, the regal charm that only a bulldog like Sasha can bring.--Interested adopters would need to travel to the Omaha area with family members including furry friends to meet Sasha.  Her adoption fee is set at $300. ##1952489##

Story
Hello there! I'm S'mores, a charming bulldog with a heart as soft as my fur. While I might come across as a bit shy and reserved at first, give me a moment, and you'll see the warmth in my eyes unfold. I'm at my best when I'm in the company of dogs my size. Growing up surrounded by five furry bulldog siblings, I guess I've developed a preference for canine camaraderie. I'm slowly learning other doggies can be amazing friends--who make me so much more brave when exploring the world!  Dog intros would be a must! My sheltered upbringing left me a bit sensitive to sudden noises and movements, but fear not, gentle pets from kiddos are well-received!  I like little ones but I would do best if my furever home had kids who are at least school-aged. As the sun rises on cold mornings, I confess—I get a bit stiff in my joints. But let's face it, don't we all? The good news is, no medical concerns here past my anxiety. I'm a healthy, usually happy pup ready to embark on adventures with a companion who appreciates a dash of canine quirkiness. So, if you're someone patient, understanding, and loves a good cuddle, swipe right! Let's create a love story filled with pawprints, laughter, and cozy moments. Can't wait to meet you and share the journey of life's adventures together!   S'mores is located in Omaha.  Interested adopters will need to travel to Omaha with all two and four legged family members to meet her.  Her adoption fee is set at $350 --Updated as of 6/9/24: S'mores tried out a home with a single guy and no other animals and decided she needs someone who is home more than he was able to be.  She's currently on prozac to help take the edge off of her anxiety as well as Calming Care.  We're hoping she can wean off once she finally settles into her furever home but it may just be something she needs to be successful.  S'mores loves hanging out in her crate and tends to prefer a quiet environment. She seems unbothered by other animals currently. If around a playful dog, she's very tolerant, but will give a quick correction when she's at her limit. She doesn't hold a grudge and just be-bops along as if nothing happened. She loves the comfort of furniture and will be sure to leave her slobbery mark. She's got a bit of a jelly nose when it comes to attention. If another dog is getting attention, she wants in. We are still working on potty training as outside is scary for her--like many dogs who were used for breeding, S'mores has a tendency to mark/urinate in her bed/blanket. She startles easily and is still getting comfortable with outside being a positive place. Leashes are really hard for her. Once she's on the leash she's OK.but currently she would fair better if she had a home where going outside didn't require a leash. She did encounter a toddler and was perfect, but as with all little ones I'd highly recommend supervision.  Her current foster works from home which is absolutely ideal in S'mores opinion! 9/1/24:  S'mores braved her first event at Trucks & Pups--it was a little overwhelming for her at times with all of the sounds, people and excitement but she was a very brave girl who loved the attention!  Loud noises like roofers (insert bark here!) and fireworks over the summer make her progress with potty training tricky.  She'll be doing so very well and then regresses back some when the roofers disrupt her schedule or fireworks make it too scary to venture outside.  She'll need continued patience and encouragement to be a very brave girl and get those habits down pat!  S'mores has learned to LOVE to play with other dogs--from her foster boxer brother to friends in the neighborhood!   ##1952564##

Finn definitely likes to be one of the guys and seems to gravitate to males before females.  We know he shouldn't have small kids in his life--the loud, in your face squeals and pets aren't up his alley.  We'll keep you all in the know as he settles into his foster home!  In the meantime, he heads to the vet on 7/24 for his neuter and chip placement.  We're hoping this will help with his marking! ##2121346##

Story
Coco is a shy girl who is looking to gain confidence in the world around her after a "ruff" start in life.  She was adopted from a shelter elsewhere as a reported mill/breeder release.  She's the most gentle peanut who loves nothing more than to sit on the oversized bean bag or couch and receive little pets.  Coco requires patience from her adoptive family as she learns to acclimate to a new situation--this may include needing to bed fed in her safe spot initially or walked on leash to the yard to take care of business.  She'll need older kids or school-aged kiddos who fall on the less excitable side of the scale. Coco tolerates her cares well and seems to enjoy her brief walks in the neighborhood.  She's just a bit fluffy so is on a late summer diet plan with encouragment from her amazing foster family.  We don't yet know much about how she feels about other dogs (indifferent at the vet) and doesn't seem interested in the resident cats in her foster home. ##2161127##

Story
Rocky Bullboa came into us as a shelter transfer.  He'd arrived to them absolutely inundated with fleas, emaciated (body condition score 1/9), flaky/patchy skin with fur missing in multiple spots on bony areas, and gums that were not a normal pink.  We picked up shortly after his stray hold was up and found a gentle spirit in a starved body.  His condition indicated Rocky hadn't had regular or good nutrition in a long period of time. He headed out of the shelter on the wobbliest of legs, needing to stop and rest on the trip to the car.  Rocky's fosters could already see the spark in his eyes though--this beautiful boy appeared so grateful for the gentle pets and kind voices now in his life.  Rocky visited the vet ASAP where bloodwork was our top priority.  As expected, his hemoglobin/hematocrit (red cells) were exceptionally low indicating his fleas were nothing new to his life.  He was given Drontal to ensure no wiggly worms of any sort were living in his GI system and causing further blood loss.  We were excited to learn his thyroid panel, chemistry, and electrolytes were all ok.  His heartworm test was negative.  Xrays were obtained showing a pneumonia (with a cough, gooey eyes and a runny nose, no one was suprised) and will be rechecked along with a CBC at his two-week follow up.  His care staff gave him a serious ear clean and pulled out so much ick--but no infection!  We don't think he'll end up having a tail pocket but, until he gets back up to his "fighting weight," we can't be certain.   Rocky's enjoying a slow and steady weight-gain program including some puppy food, Honest Kitchen, and bone broth--all of the yummy things to help a boy grow up to be big and strong! Rocky Bullboa is potty trained, is figuring out how to walk well on leash, how to play, and all about the comforts you find in a loving home.  He's had quite a few baths in the first two weeks to help soothe his skin and get rid of the overwhelming sour smell he had.  Rocky has done well with people of all ages, seems indifferent to cats, and seems to enjoy his English and Frenchie fur foster sibs.  Rocky does not have a current estimated available for adoption date.  We need to get his bloodwork up to a healthy level before we (or any vet) could consider an anesthetic for a neuter.  All of his vaccinations are also on hold until he's shown himself to be a bit more healthy at the vet. ##2161130##

In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. Story
Lucas is a very handsome young puppy, born in 2023, who is looking for a  home where he'll be showered with attention.  He is very loving and enjoys children of all ages.   Like many young pups, he is curious and will sneak out of the house if not watched closely and will need a fenced yard to play and run around in.  Lucas is not fond of being left alone and will tend to get into trouble when he is, so he'll need some help from you to learn how to behave until you come home.    He would most enjoy a family who has lots of time to spend with him, playing and training him as he grows into an adult.   The suggested adoption donation for Lucas is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site.
