Story
Name: Poggle Breeds: American Bully Age: Young Adult Sex: Male Size: ~60 lbs POGGLE IS IN BOARDING AND NEEDS A FOSTER! Big head, stocky legs, minimal thoughts, lots of love—that’s our Poggle! He is a sweet, handsome guy with so much love to give to whoever adopts him. He fancies himself a lap dog and we don’t have the heart to tell him he isn’t. He is fabulous with all people, good with other dogs, and ignores the cats. Poggle is housetrained and crates well though much prefers to be left loose in the house and he has so far been good with that at his foster home. Poggle loves his walks and tossing around toys but is equally content to take a nice snooze. His leash manners leave a lot to be desired but hey, no one is perfect. He is learning that pulling ahead like a freight train gets him nowhere and if he doesn’t he gets some love and a little treat which are 2 things he loves more than anything! While he leads with his heart, there’s a brain in that head and a strong desire to please (and get treats). Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $600 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, deworming, and microchip Interested in adopting? Story
Name: Sea Cow Breeds: Manatee Age: Young Adult Sex: Male Size: Extra large Did you ever think you’d see a manatee up for adoption? Neither did we but yet here Sea Cow is. He barks like a dog but looks like a manatee so what species he actually is you can decide for yourself. Good news though, he’s not aquatic so ready to move into your home and remain on land! Sea Cow is a big, round, stocky Bully breed with a giant heart, giant head, and a giant personality. He is a goofy bulldozer of a dog without a lick of understanding that he’s a big boy and will plant his jumbo booty right in your lap as if he’s tiny. We just don’t have the heart to tell him he isn’t. Sea Cow loves other dogs and thinks they all want to be immediate playmates with him. He has never met anyone, dog or human, that isn’t immediately his best friend. Cats are confusing to him. The shelter cat swatted him hard when he stuck his face all up in her business and he just stood there completely baffled about the stabby hand animal. He doesn’t appear to have much prey drive but he also isn’t particularly aware that cats might not want him all up in their business with no spatial awareness. Sea Cow is housetrained once he knows the routine, crates well, and does well in the house. He loves to chomp on nylabones while chilling by his people, struts his stuff on walks, and does his best pot belly pig impression flopped on his side napping in the sun. If you ever wanted to own a manatee but the habitat requirements were always preventing it, Sea Cow is the solution to all your problems (well, maybe just that one). Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $600 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, deworming, and microchip Interested in adopting? Story
A GENEROUS DONOR HAS COVERED THIS DOG'S VET COSTS, GIVING YOU A REDUCED ADOPTION FEE! Virginia was dumped out pregnant and despite going up to several homes and people, no one tried to help. She eventually wandered up to an empty house to have her three babies and thankfully someone finally took pity and reach out to get her help. Now Virginia and two of her puppies - Violet & Vince - are still waiting for families of their own and they are all on the URGENT list as their shelter is over full and they are running out of time. This girl is going to make someone a fabulous companion! She walks very well on a leash and is learning not to pull. She is potty-trained and is active but not hyper, does not jump, nor does she guard her food or toys. Virginia LOVES to go for car rides, especially if there's a burger and a pup-cup involved. And when she is on outings, she is the perfect lady when walking around the store - she was polite, greeted everyone, picked out a chew toy and treats. She takes a treat ever-so-gently and is just an overall "Good Girl!" Her absolute favorite thing is playing with her tennis ball or squeaky ball!! No stuffy toys for this girl. She loves to be with her person but if you are busy, she is content to play by herself too. Virginia does well with kids and loves every human she meets but she does not love other dogs, and we recommend she be an only-pet home. Virginia is looking for a family to include her on their adventures and show her all the love this mama dog deserves!! This girl is an absolute LOVE and deserves the best home ever! If it is yours, click on the big, black button to inquire about Virginia. Virginia is currently in TN but the transport to your area is included in your fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, I’m Bell, a 7-year-old, 50-pound English Bulldog with a big heart and an even bigger personality! I’m a sweet girl who loves nothing more than lounging at home and playing fetch or keep-away with my favorite balls. I may be a bit older, but I’m still full of energy and love to stay active! I’m potty trained and do well with crate time, though sometimes I’ll bark if I don’t get my way. I also need daily eye drops, but I’m good about taking them. I prefer a quieter, adult-only home since busy places and small kids make me nervous. I do best with smaller dogs and would thrive as a solo dog or with a calm companion. I’ve got a bit of a bossy side and can guard my water, so having someone with experience around dogs would be ideal! At home, I’m super affectionate with the adults I trust, and I love snuggling on the couch—yep, I’m a big lap dog! I’m happy going on leash walks for potty breaks and exercise, so I don’t need a fenced yard. While I may be a bit picky about meeting new people in busy settings, once I warm up, I’m a loyal, loving companion. If you’re looking for a special, low-maintenance Bulldog who just wants to be your best friend and play fetch, I’m your girl! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    * **Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Georgia is a spunky, silly, loving Old English Bulldog. We adopted her 1.5 years ago, and instantly fell in love with her energy and her neverending snuggles. She was a stray from Missouri and had no problem settling in with our family and daily routines. While she has an abundance of energy and doesn't always realize her own strength, she has always been gentle around our children, ages 8 and 10. She generally gets a long with other dogs, loves to play, albeit a little rough. This is why we have come to the difficult decision to rehome her. She and our other, older dog have not been getting along lately. We feel it is best for both dogs that they live separately.
