Story
Shutterbug is a 11 month-old, male, Bulldog mix who has spent FAR too long waiting for his chance at a forever home. It’s really hard to understand why this bright, affectionate pup is still in the shelter. Growing up in a cage is no life for any dog, especially one that loves people as much as Shutterbug. This clever boy is sharp, easily picks up new skills, and is eager to please. He’s a pro on a leash and loves exploring, making him a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys walks or outdoor adventures. While Shutterbug has shown he can be selective with some dogs, a few meet-and-greets can help ensure a smooth transition and a perfect fit if you have other dogs at home. Fully vaccinated, neutered, and ready for his happy ending, Shutterbug deserves a life beyond the shelter walls. Please consider giving this wonderful pup the chance he’s been waiting for and he will pay you back with endless love.

Unfortunately, due to past issues with landlords/housing/insurance, a restricted breed policy is in place for Bully breed/Pit Bull type dogs. This means that you must own your home and provide proof of homeownership to adopt a Bully breed/Pit Bull dog or puppy. While we understand that this may be an inconvenience, it is necessary to help reduce the number of devastated dogs being returned. We apologize for the inconvenience.

HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING:
1. Come in during adoption hours to apply and full out an application completely. We have applications on site. Open adoption hours take place at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston, RI. We are open every Wednesday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.
2. We require proof of homeownership (tax form, deed, mortgage statement) or landlord approval (a copy of your lease that clearly states you are allowed to have a dog, puppy, cat, or kitten OR written and signed consent from your landlord.
3. We require copies of up to date vet records for any current pets.
Helpful reminders:
*We do not do same day adoptions.
*Please bring the entire family in to meet the animal you are interested in.
*We will setup a meet and greet with your dog at a later date. PLEASE do not bring your dog with you when you come in to apply.
