Story
Age:4ish Weight: 50lbs Location: East Patchogue, NY 11772 Nicknames: Chubby Bunny Good with other dogs?: No, must be the only dog in the house. She has no problem with other dogs when we take her for walks or other outside adventures. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10 Activity Preference: Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time., other: Loves to play fetch outside. Just not for a long time. IQ: Smart Charlie Rose's favorite things: She loves Belly rubs. Sometimes will not come out of bed without them. She also loves to play fetch outside with her pink spikey ball. She enjoys chew toys and her stuffed lama. Charlie Rose is good at: meeting people, staying in a crate, going for car rides, making me feel safe, walking on a leash, cuddling, playing Ideal home: someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard Training Needs: needs obedience training Health issues: Sometimes she seems to have poor eye site. She has seasonal allergies that can be easily kept in check with baths and avoiding chicken. Meet Charlie Rose Charlie Rose aka Chubby Bunny is the best friend you could ask for. She wants to be with her people and will shadow you all over the house. She is happy sleeping on her bed, chewing her bone or playing ball in the yard. In typical bulldog fashion she can be a bit sassy and stubborn and will talk back to you when she has something to say. She is a huge fan of taking baths and riding in the car. She loves any adventure as long as she is with you. Because she loves her people so much she does not want to share and would be best in a single dog household. She is crate trained, great on a leash and will wait patiently and politely for her meals. Some of her favorite food include blueberries and eggs.     PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply! Story
Please contact Debbie (Deb@AmericanbulldogRescue.org) for more information about this pet.  Age: maybe 5 Weight: 55 lbs Location: Philadelphia, PA Nicknames: Winnie pie, Winter Louise, Winta Good with other dogs?: Yes, but with the right personality. Winnie is a bit bossy and a little in love with herself so she sometimes comes across as pushy and overbearing. The best companion for her would be a senior dog who won't care about her antics or a super chill dog who will just blow any pushiness off (like Brutus).Good with cats? Yes, Winnie lives with 3 cats in her foster home. Good with children? Unknown. We think  an adult home would be best. Activity Preference: Will go with the flow, likes car rides, likes walks, playing with her foster brother, naps, no-hides, bones, and stuffies. IQ: Average Winnie’s favorite things: Winnie loves following her foster mom all around the house and backyard, Winnie loves attention, a bone, her toys, and being told how pretty she is! Winnie is good at: staying in a crate, behaving in the house, walking on a leash, riding in a car,  cuddling, following commands, being a good girl! Ideal home: quiet environment, a fenced yard, while she could live with the right dog, she would probably prefer to be your only one true love. Training Needs: Winnie would benefit by continued practice with socialization with people and dogs Health issues: Winnie does seem to have some seasonal allergies. But nothing extensive. She takes Benadryl and claritin. She also has dry eye as a result of having untreated entropion for so long. She requires drops twice a day for the dry eye. Meet Winnie: She will greet you with barks that lead into flopping herself on the floor at your feet belly-up waiting for pets!  Then, she will bring you a toy, usually for tug-o-war.  At times, Winnie is a vocal young lady and is not shy about it.  She would probably be so happy to be the only dog in your home but does get along with her young, silly, canine foster brother.  When first meeting a new dog she can seem overly pushy so she would need a dog who can ignore that and balance out her pushiness.  She is currently living with Brutus (also available for adoption) and they get along great! Brutus even has Winnie running around the back yard! We love that for her! A typical day with Winnie starts with her expressing how hungry she is while you prepare her food after breakfast it is pretty much snoozing, potty breaks, a chew stick, and maybe some play time with one of her human fosters or with Brutus! When it gets close to dinner, Winnie will give reminders that it's almost time to eat! Then it's more playtime until it's time for bed! If you have hard surface flooring you'll hear Winter's signature shuffle that sounds like she's wearing slippers. Winnie is an absolute delight! She's an easy girl with so much personality! However, she doesn't show that to just anybody, you have to earn it. It takes Winnie a little bit to warm up to new people.  The best thing to do when meeting her is to totally ignore her and after a little while she will be your very best friend! It is so worth that little extra room she needs in the beginning. Once she bonds with you, you'll receive so much love and your heart will melt when you catch her gazing at you so lovingly.  Winnie has so much love to give and deserves the same in return.  PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Story
Kay is a courtesy post for Lending Paws a Hand Animal Rescue Age:3 years Weight: 45 lbs Location: Whispering Pines, NC Nicknames: Kay Kay Good with other dogs?: Dog selective. Kay can be dog selective. She used to live with another non-dominant male dog and did well. She needs slow introductions with other dogs and may not be the best fit for a household with another female dog. Her ideal home would be one where she can be the “queen bee” Good with cats? no Good with children? OK for kids over: 12 years old Activity Preference: Needs in-house activities, Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time. IQ: Average Kay's favorite things: Kay loves belly rubs, snoring in your lap, and playing with tennis balls. She is a goofball and will throw a ball up in the air and try and catch it. She can be a vacuum cleaner and would do best in home that doesn’t leave things on the floor for her to vacuum up (ie: socks turn into swallowed socks). Kay is good at: staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, making me feel safe, walking on a leash, cuddling, playing, catching balls/frisbee, following commands Ideal home: no children, quiet environment, someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard, other: A great male bachelor. Kay LOVES males! Training Needs: socialization with people, socialization with dogs Health issues: Kay does have allergies. She is currently on apoquel, but Jodi suggested we switch to cytopoint. Meet Kay Please note that Kay (K) is available through Lending Paws a Hand Animal Rescue. We are doing this post as a courtesy to help this rescue find her a great bulldog loving home! K is quite the character! She loves to do play bows and play with you and also roll over for belly rubs. Her foster fondly calls her a garbage disposal and if there's something on the ground, K most likely will try and eat it. K loves people more than anything, especially men! If you're a male reading this right now, K would gladly be your one and only love! She is the type of gal that will nap right by your feet and greet you everyday after work with her cute little nub wiggly butt! K needs a home that has the financial means to continue her ongoing care. Like most bulldogs, she has allergies, so needs to stay on meds to help keep her comfortable the rest of her life and prevent itching. Although she is young, she has already had one ruptured crutiate ligament, which the rescue repaired K will need to stay on a strict diet to ensure she does not get overweight, which would put more strain on her back legs. Spoiling her endless with lots of treats will NOT be the right fit for her, but she will gladly play fetch or get scritchy scratchies instead! K loves to lounge around and play with her kong toy or bone. She would do great with in a home where someone is around often or would also be fine hanging out by herself if you need to leave for work. She does great in her crate! Kay is also house trained and knows basic commands such as sit or leave it. K is the best little goofball girl! Her genetic testing shows she’s 50% Standard Bulldog, 25% American Bulldog and 25% French Bulldog. If you ever wanted a Bulldog mix, she’s it!   PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply!
