Story
Nala has not been around other dogs, but has been around cats. She does good with cats. Would be best to go to a home where she would be the only pet. Also, she is a very loving dog but does have to warmup to new people. She loves attention and treats, and loves laying around watching TV.

Story
Hello! My name is Meatball, and I am about 3 years old. When I was found as a stray nobody knew my name nor where I came from. I was definitely someone's dog but sadly, they didn't take good care of me nor come looking for me. Treasured Animal Rescue saw my adorable picture of my underbite and gave me that Freedom Ride. I was sad in the shelter but when my Rescuers came for me, and I got that Freedom Ride from the shelter I knew my future was going to be so much brighter! The day I met my foster family I felt so safe. They welcomed me into their home and let me settle in. Of course, my first course of action was finding my spot on the couch. I guess that's how I got the title "couch potato". But one day I was outside with my foster Daddy and he had a ball. This ball was round and plump just like me and I felt like I was in heaven. I had so much fun playing with my ball. You would think every dog has their happy moments with playing with something so simple like a ball but deep down in my past I don't think I ever got to play. Maybe I was used for making puppies and playtime was not heard of. Maybe the puppies I made for my old owners over & over again was all I knew so when I received affection from my foster family I soaked it up like a sponge. All that affection I got from my foster family I paid them back by making them laugh. When I am happy my back end does some wiggling. Well, my back end is not little so there's lots of wiggling! That made my foster family laugh. My name fits me because I'm shaped like a meatball; round and plump. When I get happy my little back end just wiggles & wiggles. I get happy when my foster family comes home from work/school and we get to play ball. I love playing with my ball and the bigger the ball the better. After our play time we snuggle on the couch. I might catch another doggie nap and you can guess it, I snore. I'm housetrained but I have a little tinkle here or there when I get excited. I like to go for walks but my breeding I have to go on short walks especially on hot days. I actually prefer to be on a couch inside with air conditioning. Who doesn't? I'm more of a couch potato watching TV. My foster family leaves a TV on for me when they go to work. Bluey is my favorite show. I like going for car rides and being with people. I haven't been around small kids or cats. I've seen other dogs and get excited. Now that I've settled in with my foster family, I learned Humans can be nice and loving. I think in my past home I didn't have that loving environment. I love hanging out on the couch with my Humans and sometimes don't like to share. I'm the only dog in my foster home and I love all the attention. My foster family thinks I would do best being the only dog in my new home or a good Doggie Leader that can help me not be selfish in the attention department if there is another dog in the home. I'm now ready for my forever family. I know there is going to be a day when I have to leave my foster family, and everyone will be sad but that's why foster family's do what they do. They make the commitment to doggies like me to trust Humans and establish a bond. If we could have a crystal ball for my future I would like to have a family just like my foster family. A couch I can hang out on. Maybe I can be the only dog, so all the attention is on me. I haven't been around small kids and let's just say no kids. I don't think the excitement is for me. The only excitement I like is when my foster Daddy watches football and he's rooting for the Chicago Bears. I like to have a quiet, calm home so I can get used to my new home. And if things get too stressful for me maybe I have a special place I can go chill. In my foster home my family set up a doggie crate. At first, I wasn't too sure of it but I have a doggie bed that I get really comfy and start sleeping right away! You can probably hear my snoring already. They say rescue dogs are broken. We are not. Sadly, a Human does things to us or neglects us, but dogs live in the moment. My life took a big change when I saw my Rescuer looking through the shelter bars and said "she will be our Treasured Gem". They looked into my eyes and felt my soul. They guessed at my appearance of how I was treated and made a promise to make it better. My Rescuers and foster family kept that promise and its now time for my forever family to continue. It might not be easy for me adjusting in your home, but I promise you this: I will make you laugh with my snorting, snores and cute underbite. I hope when you come meet me, I can make you laugh and then of course you are going to fall in love with me. It all starts with you filling out an adoption application so we can start our friendship. Love, Meatball Meatballis located in our foster home in Romeoville.
