Roger was rescued from a high kill south Atlanta shelter. He was found as a stray but no one ever came for him. He is very chill and would make a great apartment or condo dog as he doesn’t need much in the way of physical stimulation. He is crate trained, low energy, has a beautiful fawn Merle coat and the sweetest grumpy face. He takes some time to warm up but would be a great couch companion. He is estimated at 3 years old and 44 lbs.

Benny is an extremely sweet and unbelievably cute dog. He is 3-years old and loves everyone. He needs lots of love and attention. He loves balls of all sorts, his favorite is a red spiky one that squeaks and lights up. He is house-trained. He loves other dogs, but we think he would thrive equally well in an only dog household. He loves children. He doesn't bark much but he does this howl-like noise sometimes. He is just so sweet and wonderful and we think he will make a great addition to any home.

I am trying to rehome this sweet little female Bulldog mix that I picked up last week. She was abandoned and starving in a park in Dekalb county, so I brought her home to see if I could find her a forever home. I’ve gotten her checked out at my vet. She is roughly 2 years old, appears to have had a litter at some point, we think she has not been spayed. We have dewormed her and vaccinated for rabies. She has no microchip and I’ve had no luck finding her previous parents via social media or lost and found resources through Dekalb county and surrounding areas. I feel confident she was dumped by the previous parent. We would love to keep her but our senior Boxer female has health issues and is not cool with having another female in the house. She is so sweet, loving, playful; would be a perfect fit as an only dog. I think she would be good with other dogs, as long as there isn't a dominant female in the house. Please help me find a forever home for this little lady!

Meet Flapjack! A 6 yr old, 45 lb English bulldog. She's a "low maintenence" kind of girl. A fenced in yard is a must for her, as she's not big on taking walks, but she definitely enjoys sunbathing in the grass. You might say she's a little bit of a homebody. Another must is having a couch 😁 Yes! She's a couch potato where she enjoys watching TV with her person. Flapjack likes a good bone to chew on, a soft toy to squeak or a game of tug o war. She wants all the human attention for herself, so she's not willing to share it with another dog. She'll roll her potato like body over for as many belly rubs as you're willing to give her! Please no kitties either, as she thinks they are way to much fun to chase. Flapjack is potty trained and crate trained. She does fine not crated as well. Her table manners are excellent as she does not beg for food or care if you're cooking in the kitchen. Flapjack is waiting to meet her forever family! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
