Hey all! It’s me, Nala, looking for my forever home! I came into rescue several months ago and I didn’t feel too well back then. I lived my life on the streets scavenging for food. I only weighed 17 lbs then but with the help of SSBR and my foster family, I’ve blossomed to a healthy and muscular 55lb lady! I love to play independently and with my fur siblings. I built my muscles doing zoomies in the yard, but I also love squeaky toys and nylon bones. I love my humans hard but I’m scared of strangers so I need a quiet and patient home who can show me all the love I deserve. ❤️Sweet Fiona was returned to the rescue this past week and unfortunately on such short notice of being returned we had to place her into boarding until we find her a forever home or foster. Something rescues never like to accept is a failed adoption. We spend countless hours trying to make sure our dogs are in their FOREVER homes, but despite all efforts returns still happen. So not only did Fiona loose her home last week, she now sits in boarding hoping someone will come along who will adopt her. She no longer got a long with the dogs in the home she was in. We aren’t quite sure if she wouldn’t get along with certain dogs - so she may truly do best as the only dog and queen of her castle or maybe less dogs than before. He is a sweet, distinguished couch potato. He came to the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center as a stray where he was neutered before becoming a 4 Lucky Dog. He is approximately 3 years old, knows basic commands, is crate trained and house trained. Since he came to us as a stray, we don’t know anything about his past. However, he seems to have lived in a home because he is extremely affectionate and wants to be with his humans all the time. The kind of thing that’s made at all important occasions cause you can’t imagine not having them, but no one knows what they’re called. ‘Cause you see, we don’t know what he is exactly… but everyone LoVeS him! He’s absolutely DELICIOUS! Flik is small - right around 20 pounds - and has ears that could function as antennas if needed. He has a blocky head but he’s lanky. He’s all white with a blonde bottom and tail. He has soulful eyes complete with dramatic black eyeliner. He is absolutely stunning! The best part of Flik is his personality, though. He’s loving and attentive. When you enter the room he immediately has eyes on you, wanting to know what he can do to please. He’s extremely dog friendly - never met a pup he didn’t love - and he’s wonderful with kids of all ages. Flik was found sick and wounded. He had been buried in an ant bed and they almost ate him alive. After several weeks in the shelter where he was nursed back to health, and now several weeks in foster care where he’s been loved completely and learned the ropes of life as a pet, Flik can say for sure that nightmare was all a distant memory. He’s incredibly happy go lucky now! Flik is ready to find his family. He can be an only dog or he can join a home with other pets. He just wants to be an integral part to a home where he can stay forever! Flik would love a yard to enjoy as he’s still learning the ropes of a leash / harness and he insists on people who understand he needs pets, “good boys”, and “aw you’re so handsome”s every day.
