Meet Hubert, a 5.5-year-old English Bulldog with a big heart and an even bigger love for toys and naps! Weighing in at about 51 lbs, Hubert is highly food motivated and will gladly show off his playful side for a tasty treat. He does have a sensitive backside, so gentle handling is best. Hubert is looking for a loving home where he can enjoy plenty of playtime, treats, and, of course, his beloved naps! Bentley is 3 years old (Born November 2nd 2021) English bulldog, not neutered. He has had cherry eye surgery and corkscrew tail surgery. He is needed for updated normal vaccines. Inside dog. Was on a raw diet for awhile. Fully potty trained. Knows all the basics. Bentley over the last year has become slightly unpredictable with aggressive outbursts. This started about a year and a half ago. He will get into a self defensive, scared, aggressive stance and will bite if he feels threatened. We put him through training last year to fix this and it helped slightly but not all the way. My wife just gave birth to our first boy and we just dont want to risk anything. If not for the child we would not even consider rehoming him. My wife and I are young (24 and 25). I believe he needs a family who better understands bulldogs and this type of behavior

Some of our most heartfelt moments here at Satchel's is watching our animals come out of their shells to reveal their wonderful and different personalities. One of our most notable pups would be Miss Sicily. When she first arrived, Sicily kept her guard up, she was nervous and untrusting. She would let a select few staff members engage with her, but did not show affection and was more relieved when the interaction was over. Fast forward a few weeks, and we could see a small spark starting to show through, she was more willing to take treats from us and was more curious about going outside. She then found a lovely Woof Pack leader, Peg, who was willing to work with her on socializing and getting her to open up more. Soon she started jumping up on us when we went to clean her kennel, started giving us kisses and loved being rubbed all over. She started showing her silly side, playing with toys and goofing around. She was still nervous outside the kennel, and she still has moments when she is unsure about the environment, but her confidence has significantly grown since the day she first arrived. Sicily can still be a bit weary of men and tends to gravitate towards females, but we are so proud of the steps she has conquered and continues to, even today. She has shown us that the shyest of pups have a love for play and affection and sometimes it just takes patience and understanding to let their light shine through. Today, Sicily loves to go out with Peg in our back yard and run around, getting all her zoomies out and acting like a goofball. She loves to give hugs and kisses, getting belly rubs when she rolls over and just generally loves attention. This happy girl lives up to her name, a sassy personality indeed. Sassafras is an adult beauty, with a brilliant smile that brightens anyone's day. She is the life of the party and loves to be the center of attention. She can not wait to go outside and either go in the yards and sniff everything possible, or go on a brisk walk, leading the way. Sassy is protective of her space and loyal to her friends but will welcome new people into her circle with a slow introduction. She doesn't seem to mind the company of some canines, but we have found her to be selective and she would prefer to have the people all to herself. She adores toys and goes for the stuffed squeaky toys every time. She will chase balls to the point of exhaustion but her favorite past time is water play. When given the opportunity, she loves splashing in a wading pool, chasing the spray of a hose and swimming in the bay. She is very treat motivated, which is helpful in her learning of basic obedience. Curling up in a comfy bed or cuddled up with a friend is the best way to end her day. If you're looking for that missing piece of love in your life, Sassafras could be the perfect dose to fill your heart.
