I’m Custard, a 5 year old male Bulldog mix. I am very sweet, laid-back, sleep quietly in my crate overnight, potty trained and ok to free roam, know sit, stay and come, enjoy a snuffle mat, love snoozing on the couch but get down when Foster Mom says "off". Ronka and brother Bruno are a bonded pair and about 5 years old. Ronka was purchased at 8 weeks from a breeder. Bruno was adopted after spending 3 years in a kennel as a breeder dog. Both have lived with kids. Bruno can be with any dog but Ronka is more choosy- luckily they have each other. Bruno loves lounging on furniture and just wants to lay next to you and cuddle. Both are very loving. They are kind, sweet, loving dogs with no snap. Bruno is a little scared of the outside world so they must have a yard and are dog door trained. These dogs are pretty much perfect and their adopter will realize they’ve found the holy grail of dogs. Fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations and checked by a vet 2/10. I am a beautiful, AKC registered Bull Terrier that loves relaxing, playing soccer by myself or with a human, only bark when I hear something suspicious, and love to play with cats. I don't like other dogs, and under no circumstances should I be around them...I'm top dog and want to be your only love. While I'm not good with small children (I don't like my tail, paws, nor ears touched) I love older kids that can understand my quirks. I like walks and don't pull, bark, or lung, as I just want to enjoy the scenery with you. My favorite things are my bed, balls, food, and car rides! I need a home that won't yell at me, as I am a sensitive fella and that will make me anxious and defensive. I do fantastic with positive training and am goofball that spins around and hops when you playfully spank my strong back legs. I "grumble" like a bear a lot to tell you how happy I am or that I need something, and I'm super strong, so no soft toys. As a Bull Terrier, I have seasonal allergies and yeast, but a little benadryl is what the vet says I need. Do not try to clean my ears, it makes me extremely nervous and defensive, but sending me to the groomers is okay as long as they know that. Hello, I'm Cecil. I was found dumped on the side of a ditch with nothing but my friend and a blanket. Thankfully a nice person helped get me and my friend to the shelter and offered to foster us. I'm a sweet boy and look to be around 4 years old. My history is a mystery but I'm friendly and loving. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2288733##
