Story
Meet Motto Motto Motto Motto is looking for his happily ever after ! He was rescued from a hoarder breeding situation where he was kept in deplorable conditions. He lived in a cage his whole life and has likely never been in a home. He doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body but loves to play tug of war and is a major chomper when he gets excited, he loves to latch on to items and is still learning which items are ok for chomping and which aren’t, due to this behavior issue we are placing in a home with no small children. We are confident with an experienced family who has the patience to train him, this won’t be a major issue. He’s super smart and eager to learn, he’s so sweet and still shy when meeting new people. He is estimated to be about 4 or 5 years old but it’s hard to tell because they were in such bad shape when we got them. He is on a salmon food diet and will need to continue to be on that and he likely has never been in a house, so we don’t think that he will be potty trained. He does like other dogs and he super sweet when he meets new people. He is now fixed, microchipped, had a dental and fully vaccinated. If you have any questions or are interested in adopting one of the dogs or cats for adoption, please TEXT us at 661-839-2200. We are located in southern California (Antelope Valley )

Story
Sweet Adele came to us as a stray. She was in very bad shape, having massive wounds covering her back, that were infected and full of maggots (sorry, we know that’s gross) She was sick, injured, sad, and lost, but still sweet and grateful for the help. We’re still not sure what happened to her, just that she was neglected and needed treatment and time to heal. Our Medical Staff watched over her vigilantly and our volunteers paid for additional specialized Veterinarian care. Our volunteers also coordinated numerous transports in their own vehicles to make sure that she was at every appointment (our volunteers’ rock!) She is now ready to start her new life with someone special. Could that be you?Adele isn’t crazy about other dogs, so a meet and greet with yours is a must. She may be okay with an easy-going male dog, but again, that is a maybe. She would be happy being the only piglet in the home. Adele seems to know the difference about going potty outside, vs inside, so that is a plus and she should be easily trained on how her new household works. We don’t want to scare anyone away, yet Adele will need some follow up medical care after adoption. Please read what our veterinarian explains below. If you are interested, someone from our Vet Staff would be happy to speak with you about it further. Both knees have medical concerns. She has left sided medial patellar luxation, she has right sided cruciate tear. It would be recommended to repair the right cruciate surgically. She also has the typical English bulldog upper respiratory problems, so it is recommended to perform the BOAS surgery which opens up her nares and surgically fix her soft palate. The BOAS surgery really needs to be done at a specialty clinic, and ALL bulldogs SHOULD do it. She has been walking okay as a house puppy as long as she stays trim and doesn`t get overweight, that will help immensely. She also has the idiopathic head bobbing which can be seen in this breed as well. It happens when she seems to be stressed or anxious, when she was kept back in medial where it was quieter we never really saw it, now that she is in the runs it has been reported more frequently.

Story
#A5660504 Meet Rocky ,a 9-month-old Bulldog and Husky mix with a precious curly tail and such a vibrant energy! He’s super enthusiastic and loves to jump up to say hi—so get ready for some excited greetings! Rocky is a high-energy pup who would thrive in an active household where he can run, play, and explore. He’s curious about other dogs, always ready to play bow and make new friends through the fence at the shelter. Rocky absolutely adores toys, especially sturdy chew toys, and is content to gnaw away. Still a baby, he could use some leash training since he thinks the leash is just another fun toy!  He’s still working on his puppy basics but is eager to please and loves treats, so with a little training and consistency, he’ll be the perfect companion for an active family. Come scoop up this darling dumpling of a pup for a lifetime of love and adventures! 9 month old black and white English bulldog and Siberian husky mix 66 pound neutered male May need some standard shots and preventatives before you can take him home - this is easy to do through the shelter! Came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11/13/24 as a return - but we have no idea why, this boy is a delight Adorable curly tail High energy puppy - loves to run and play Needs a family with an active lifestyle - perfect for jogging, hiking, or outdoors adventures! Jumps up to say hi - could use all the puppy training basics to be his best self, including leash work; thought the leash was a toy and tried playing with it Curious about other dogs, seems social - loves to play bow Always interested in a good sturdy chew toy - can keep him occupied for ages! Shows clear signs of potty training   ROCKY’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/TJc5bH1gGXU For more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter.
