English Bulldog Age: 2 yrs old Male, Neutered 33 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Otis was found as a stray and turned into the local shelter. He was pretty healthy, but had a condition called “cherry eye” in both eyes. Our vet attempted to fix both eyes - the success rate for this repair is about 50/50. One eye is healing nicely, the other may not be so lucky, time will tell. Cherry eye is mostly a cosmetic issue, and doesn’t affect their ability to see. English bulldogs in general often have LOTS of medical issues. The only other observable condition, so far, is a flea allergy. Otis had a lot of energy, a lot of humping and marking before he was neutered. Within a week following surgery, there was a big difference in his behavior. He is young and still energetic at times, but he is also very sweet and loves to cuddle. We pulled Otis at the same time we pulled another English Bulldog, a female named Courtney, from the same shelter. We thought that they may have come from the same home and were bonded. They do get along very well and probably bonded in a bulldog breed bonding sort of way. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. English Bulldog Age: 5-6 yrs old Female, Spayed 38 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Courtney was found as a stray and turned into the local shelter. She had an abscess on her paw that needed medical attention. Upon evaluation by our vet, it was observed that she also has dry eye syndrome, ectropion eyelids that turn in, but her corneas were in pretty good shape. There were also sutures still in place on her lower abdominal area. The incision was too small for a recent C-section and there were no other signs that she had been recently pregnant (although she has likely had puppies in the past). It could have been from a recent spay, but lab testing indicated that she was still intact. It is a mystery as to why the incision w/ sutures was there. Our vet spayed her and fixed her eyelids. She is on ointment and eye drops for the chronic dry eyes, but it is possible that this will correct itself over time. English bulldogs in general often have LOTS of medical issues. Courtney had some domination issues with the volunteers when she first came to us. After some consistent and stringent correction, that behavior considerably lessened, but she will need to be monitored when meeting strangers. Otherwise, she is very sweet and loves attention. We pulled Courtney at the same time we pulled another English Bulldog, a male named Otis, from the same shelter. We thought that they may have come from the same home and were bonded. They do get along very well and probably bonded in a bulldog breed bonding sort of way. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. Loki is a 6 year old bulldog mix, weighing in at 80lbs. He was dumped with a Rover dog watcher and has been cared for but needs to find a new home soon. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Loki is the perfect couch potato friend, loves a daily walk and great on a leash. He loves his stuffies and is overall big cheerful, easy going boy. He could co-exist with another mellow dog with slow introductions. Un-sure about cats. Loves meeting kids and all people! If you would like to meet Loki he is looking forward to finding his new forever home. The first step in the process is to submit an application (link below) in order to set up a meet and greet or talk with the foster family. Once the application is submitted, the foster parents will contact you to chat more about the dog and make sure they're a good fit, and can answer any further questions. The application answers most of our questions in order to best match you. Meet Wiggles! Notes from his foster: Mr. Wiggles is an absolutely friendly and lovely little couch potato. He's the perfect dog for any family that just wants a pet to love on, with low maintenance and low energy. He likes treats very much, and is very motivated by them, so he can be yours to train easily and quickly (he's already learned from us when to go to bed). He is also curious. We've had him walk in and out of the house with us without a leash, and all he wants to do is some sniffing around plants before he comes back in. When he is inside the house, he spends most of his time doing one of two things: Laying down for a nap, or staring at you for pets. When he wants his head scratched he will let you know by pushing his whole noggin into your leg or foot. Other pros for Mr. Wiggles is he is very calm. We've recently had a few dogs in our neighborhood that have been quite loud and barky, but Mr. Wiggles has not responded in any way towards their barks. In fact, when we do hear them in the house, he snores right through it. Overall, he is a very good boy.
