Story
Meet Milo! This 5 year old, 40 pound, Miniature Australian Shepherd is ready to meet his forever family! This spunky boy is looking for someone who can be his best friend while accommodating his high energy needs.Due to Milo’s breed, he likes to have a job to focus on each day. Sometimes, he thinks his job is to manage the people around him. This can manifest in being nitpicky around children and he’ll want to correct their behavior and can become frustrated when this doesn’t go his way. For this reason, he should go to a home with kids 13 years and older. Aside from these behaviors, Milo loves being around people and receiving all the love and attention he can get! Milo was crate trained as a puppy but it’s not his favorite spot to be. He prefers to free roam the house and does very well. He adjusts quickly to new surroundings but has anxiety that’s well managed by daily medication. It’s important that Milo’s forever family will be one that’s dedicated to managing his anxiety long-term.Milo does great with other dogs but prefers them to be more submissive than him in size and personality. He likes to be the boss! He’d likely do well with another dog in the home given the right dynamics are in place. We aren’t sure how he’d do around cats long-term. He’s had short interactions with them and is largely disinterested. This smart boy enjoys a moderate to high activity level to stimulate him each day. For this reason, he would like a home that can give him a couple walks a day with additional playtime in between. He does well with a tie-out so a fenced yard is not required.Milo’s ready to meet his forever family! With lots of love and activity, he will be the ultimate best friend anyone could ask for. If you’re interested in learning more about Teddy and think he might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more! Whoever becomes his family will be lucky they did.https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Name: Tammie Jo Breeds: Southern Belle Age: Adult Sex: Female Size: Large when fully grown TAMMIE JO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT TO LEAVE THE SHELTER! Tammie Jo may be a Minnesota local but she has the charm of a southern belle. We can just hear her say “oh bless your heart” in a southern drawl. She is a leggy beauty who smiles when she is excited. Yes, smiles. She’ll pull her lips back and give the most adorable smile when she is all wiggly and happy. Tammie Jo is in a shelter setting so housetraining is not known but she hates to potty in her kennel run so we assume she is housetrained. She is great with dogs, not likely good with cats based on her initial reaction to trying to chase, and loves all people. She knows some basics and has clearly been someone’s loved pooch before. She wants nothing more than to settle back into a home and be loved forever. He needs a foster or foster-to-adopt home to commit to him before his time runs out. He will need to be brought to our vet in Eden Prairie for a neuter once in foster or foster-to-adopt (cost covered by the rescue) Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, deworming, and microchip Interested in adopting? Fill out a preadopt application here: https://form.jotform.com/203104540557144 You can email laurahhk9@gmail.com with additional questions. This dog is located in Minneapolis, MN

Story
Meet Marti! Marti is a 5 year old, neutered, double merle, male, who came to us almost completely feral. He is a slightly pudgy 40 pounds, crate trained, house broke (but still leaks a little urine when sleeping although we haven't tried medication for that yet as it has been improving). As he is double merle he has some vision issues as well. Marti will need a very special owner that is willing to give him plenty of time to learn to trust. At his foster home Marti gets along with other dogs, is great with cats, and walks off leash in a rural setting. Marti is that lower energy aussie everyone's looking for and would like a quiet home. Marti will need more training in cooperative Care which his foster is working on and is easy to implement. The details: Needs Fence: Depends on setting (needs to gain trust to be leashed, fence necessary in busier area) Good With Dogs: Yes Good With People: Needs patience Good with cats: Yes All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.

Story
Meet Tanner! Tanner is a red tri Australian Shepherd born on March 14, 2021, entered the world under challenging circumstances, coming from a dog hoarding situation. When he arrived at his current home on September 25, 2023, Tanner was thin and fearful, bearing the scars of neglect. Despite his difficult past, Tanner's story is one of resilience and the transformative power of love. Initially cautious and skittish, Tanner struggled to adjust to his new environment. Simple tasks like being leashed or venturing downstairs filled him with anxiety. However, with patience and understanding, Tanner slowly began to overcome his fears. Around unfamiliar humans, especially females, Tanner remains cautious and quick to retreat. Yet, in the presence of his trusted caregiver, a 62-year-old male, Tanner finds comfort and security. Despite his apprehension, Tanner possesses a gentle and affectionate heart. When he feels safe, he exhibits a chill and easygoing demeanor, enjoying the simple pleasures of lounging in the yard and watching squirrels from the deck. Tanner's journey to trust has been aided by the presence of canine companions in his foster home. While he may not engage in play, he finds comfort in their company, providing him with a sense of belonging. To ensure Tanner's continued growth and well-being, he requires a special kind of family. An older, male caregiver in a calm environment would be best suited to meet his needs. While his compatibility with children remains uncertain, Tanner may thrive in a home with older kids or no children at all. Despite the challenges he has faced, Tanner's journey serves as a testament to the power of love and resilience. With each passing day, he takes another step forward on his path to healing, reminding us all of the importance of patience, compassion, and second chances. The details: Needs Fence: yes Good with dogs: yes (calm and confident) Good with cats: no exposure Good with kids: older or no kids
