Story

Gentry is an Australian Shepherd. We think he may be around 6 years of age and weighs almost 50 pounds (he needs to lose weight). Gentry is a good boy and well-behaved in the house. He is crate trained but does not need to be crated and we do not crate him. He will sleep in a crate with the door open. He walks well on a leash and comes when called. He loves treats and is treat-motivated. He rides well in a vehicle without restraint but does need to be lifted inside. He uses the potty pads in the house if he cannot get out when he needs to go. Gentry is a low-energy dog and spends most of the day inside lying on one of the dog beds. He goes outside to potty and explore the yard. He barks when he gets excited. Gentry will do best in a home with another adult Aussie to encourage him to play. Gentry took refuge at a home out in the country. He had multiple bites and bruises around his neck and stomach, suggesting he had probably been attacked by one or more dogs or coyotes. It has been two years and his wounds have healed, yet he still runs into the house whenever a few of the other dogs get too rowdy. Gentry is also scared of strangers and people we see on our walks. He is terrified of thunderstorms. Gentry needs a home with gentle and loving people who will help him overcome his fears and gain confidence. He is a wonderful dog that deserves a fabulous forever home. Gentry must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and must have a secure fenced yard where he feels safe to explore and play. Gentry is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Lyme, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gentry was treated for heartworms using the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain) and he is now heartworm-free. Gentry will require periodic grooming because 1.) his tail has been completely cut off so feces collects back there and 2. he gets extremely hot in the summer and shaving helps him cool down. Gentry needs a wonderful home with people that will help him overcome his fears. We will consider both in-state and out-of-state applications. Gentry's in-state adoption fee is $200 and his $450 out-of-state adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted company to the NE or Pacific NW. This is Booger. She is a 1.5 year old Australian shepherd mix with the most beautiful eyes. She loves car rides, toys, treats, and playing in water. She will jump in the tub with you if you give her the opportunity. She loves any kind of scratches she can get (she's very persuasive), guarding under your desk using your feet as a pillow, and most of all, sitting in your lap on the couch to watch a movie. She's incredibly smart and learns new tricks quickly. She does well on a leash with a harness. She's potty trained but will need to be let out regularly. She loves to chase the squirrels up the tree and protect the yard. She needs to go to a home without other dogs or cats. She's timid at first, but with treats warms up easily. I am not sure how she is around kids. If you're interested, please let me know. I want her to go to the best home for her, and unfortunately, I can not provide that as I have other dogs. If you open your home up to her, she will love and protect your family with everything she has. I would love updates if you're willing to provide them. She's a very special dog and deserves the right home that can bring out her best. She is currently not spayed, but I do have an appointment booked for her. She will also have her rabbies shot then. She has received the 10-way vaccine from TSC, but she is due for her reup. I'm willing to drive to meet you if you are further away. Story

Ollie is an energetic, goofy, clever 7 month old, 30lb Australian Shepherd and Kelpie mix who loves to run around and play with toys all day long! This boy has boundless energy and loves to have lots of mental stimulation available to him, such as puzzle mats, agility courses, and problem solving activities! Ollie was on the euthanasia list at our local shelter for length of stay, which was only about a week and a half. Being such a high energy puppy, you can imagine the mental decline shelter life had on him. We knew we had to get him out! Since being with us, Ollie has shown us his crazy side and how he loves to race around the yard like a speedster! He has endless fun playing with the many toys scattered throughout the yard- his favorites being the plush squeaky ones. Ollie is a really smart boy and loves to please his people. He is very motivated by food, toys, and affection and is super easily trainable. With the amount of energy he has and how quickly he can learn new skills, we think he would be perfect at agility courses and other quality enrichment games. At 7 months old, Ollie is done growing where he's at! Ollie is potty and crate trained and is good with other dogs. His ideal home would have at least one other energetic pup for him to play with. With all of his unfiltered puppy energy, he does tend to get on some dogs' nerves so he'll need a tolerant pup who can teach him how to behave properly around other dogs. Ollie is located in Houston TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption.
