We found Alester on July 4th of this year. He was a lost puppy that no one claimed. We have given Alester a home for the past 3 months hoping to rehome him. Our lifestyle is not condusive to a puppy as my husband and I are both teacher/coaches and rarely home. We have two boys (9 and 7) who LOVE Alester. Alester is potty trained, active, and great with children, making him a perfect family dog. He is loving, fun, and cuddly, thriving on affection and playtime. Berne, means 'bear-like' and this boy is so cute and has the waddle of a bear! As cute as he was we noticed something else was going on with this boy besides being a tail-less wonder. His back end seemed smooshed. We got him checked out, after x-rays and evaluation he has a compressed spine. This is common in some breeds. We don't know his breed but it will be something he has forever. He is not in pain and still acts like a normal puppy. As he gets a little bigger, we will see if there are any remedies or treatments that might help him but we do suspect he will live a happy life and would be an awesome addition to any family. He may need to be in household with older kids so he doesn't get knocked around. He is potty trained. He is doing great with crate and leash training. He loves tug of war, bully sticks and pestering his older foster siblings. He has spurts of energy a couple times a day, doesn't last long and otherwise very chill! Vet suspects he will get to 30 pounds. This sweet boy was found as a stray in a park. Hiya! My name is Callie and I am a 5-year-old Aussie/Lab mix. I've got lots going for me and can't wait to find a family I can adore fur-ever!! My foster momma is doing a great job loving me and I'll make.a fabulous addition to my new family!! I cam to the shelter after I'd been found laying in the street after getting struck by a car. Fortunately, I wasn't injured too severely and after a couple weeks to recoup, I've been good as new! My foster momma says I am laid back, happy and friendly. I love air conditioning, puppies, and treats. I am house and crate trained to boot! I am a little selective with my female adult doggie friends but so far, I haven't met a puppy or male dog I haven't liked. Oh... maybe I should tell you one last thing about me. The reason I probably got hit by a car is that I didn't know it was coming. My eyesight works great but my hearing doesn't I am deaf and since I didn't hear the car coming from behind me, I wasn't able to get out of the way in time. But that sure doesn't stop me from loving life! Contact the shelter and they'll put you in touch with my foster mom and she'll tell you how awesome I am!!

Coming in at a whopping 65lb plus, this neutered pup isn't even a year yet and is not for the faint of heart! This sweet boy has a big playful personality and loves to throw his weight around. Mr. Rig is looking for a forever family/person that can keep up with his energy, both physically and mentally! He would love some kids or younger/larger dogs to play with as he loves to roll around and wrestle. He is actually pretty malleable with people and dogs and will happily flomp over for belly rubs! She does take time to warm up but once she trusts you, she bonds to her person/people and is ready for all the adventures that lie ahead. Izzy will need a home that is quiet. Lucy goosy goose 🪿 or at least that’s what my foster dad says when it’s time for dinner! Hi! My name is Lucy! I am a 5 year old female Border Collie in the DFW area, searching for my furever home…is that you?! I am around 40lbs, spayed and UTD on shots. I’m your typical BC - herdy, nerdy, active and playful! And sometimes a little quirky. I was an owner surrender to a Texas shelter because my owners couldn’t care for my vet bills anymore. After many tests, trials and treatments the vets were a little stumped on why I sometimes have issues digesting my food 🍲 sometimes I eat too quickly and sometimes food gives me indigestion so it comes back up. It doesn’t affect me much beyond some fluctuating weight and doesn’t happen all the time - see, quirky! My foster parents said whoever adopts me just needs to be patient and kind with me. I would do best as an only dog or with a four-legged friend who is playful and doesn’t mind me wanting to herd them! I would also do best in a home with older children because I do like to herd (I’m a border collie!) Maybe even an older home with someone to keep me company during the day, walks and play time! I am cat tested and safe, the resident cat is a little scary. I am crate trained, leash trained and my favourite thing in the world is to play fetch!!
