Story
Est dob: 1/22/2019 Drax is a calm, friendly, affectionate, and very easy going guy. He’s about 4 years old and is an Australian Shepard mix. He is in a home with other dogs and has been with teenage kids as well. Drax is house broken, but always expect an adjustment when any pet enters a new environment. Unfortunately, Drax was fed way too much by his previous owners and has become a little overweight. He currently weighs in at 160 lbs which is way too much for him! He is on a vet supervised caloric diet which he has done very well with and has already started to lose some of those extra pounds! He is becoming more energetic as 4 year old dog should be, by playing more with his current foster's dog and toys. He would be a great addition to a family wanting to help him on his journey with starting off with slow short walks as he works towards his goals. Drax is in a foster home with other dogs and adults that he does well with.  Please consider making this handsome boy a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we do require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at :  https://almosthomepetrescue.org/apply-now-1  $200 adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates.  If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes.October 16, 2024, 11:33 pm

Story
Meet Jack, a spirited canine resident of our shelter. Bursting with energy, Jack`s playful nature is contagious. He likes agility, car rides, fetch, running, tugging, water, and walks where he demonstrates his occasional skill at leash walking. But all bets are off if he sees a squirrel. Jack`s enthusiasm for life is matched only by his need for affection. He`s the type of dog who`ll nuzzle into your side for a cuddle, his tail wagging a mile a minute. He`s needy and never wants to be alone, except when he does. He loves nothing more than a roughhousing romp with his fellow four-legged friends (excluding cats!). He has lived with dogs but is a little possessive of his food and would like to eat by himself. If you have a dog, you`ll need to bring it to meet him. Jack will be a wonderful family pet for a home with kids at least 15 years old who can respect his space while he eats. His vocal nature and need for attention might be a bit much for some, but to others, it`s a sign of his unwavering loyalty and love. He`s already house trained and knows how to use a doggie door, making him a great fit for any home. However, his adventurous spirit sometimes leads him to wander, so a secure yard is a must. He weighs 63 pounds and knows the sit and come commands but seldom obeys them. Excitable and endearing, Jack is the epitome of man`s best friend. Adopting lovable Jack means welcoming a bundle of joy and a loyal companion into your life. Story
Meet Harin, an adult dog with a heart full of love and energy to share. Her playful nature is contagious, and she`s known to have a smart streak that keeps her human companions on their toes. She knows the sit, come, down, and off commands. Harin`s a cuddly companion, always ready for a cozy snuggle on the couch. Harin`s dazzling coat is an irresistible lure so you`ll enjoy petting her almost as much as she enjoys it. When she feels the need to burn some energy (which may be quite often), she enjoys agility, fetch, running, tugging and chase. She might be friendly and playful or rough, fearful, and cautious around other dogs so if you have a dog, you`ll need to bring it to meet her. She is easygoing, friendly, playful, but also a little rough, when playing with children. Her protective nature makes her a great watchdog, and she`s house trained too. She`s quick to bark when alone or outside too long so you`ll always know when she`s around. Harin weighs 30 pounds and has a habit of running away in search of adventure. But with a secure yard and a loving family, she`ll feel safe and content. Harin`s lovable and protective nature makes her a perfect fit for a family that can offer her a safe, loving environment where she can let her energetic personality shine. (tw 8/17/2024)
