After living only outdoors, Dove & her sister have now decided they love to play with toys & sleep on soft beds. They're very grateful & gentle natured. Dove loves other dogs & she ADORES people. She's very personable & wants to be near her people.❤️ She's currently working on house training & leash training & she's doing great! Dove weighs 45 lbs & will likely be near 50-55 lbs when full grown. She's been fully vaccinated & heartworm tested negative. She's now on monthly heartworm prevention & flea prevention. She's scheduled to be spayed next week. Her breed mix possibly includes Australian shepherd, Australian cattle dog, & Anatolian shepherd, Great Pyrenees, & border collie. Story
Can I introduce you to Duke? He has been in boarding for the past 4 years with ASF. I don't know the whole story, but the gist of it is he was rescued out of Houston, escaped transport somehow in Dallas, and ran around the Love Field Airport runway for 2 weeks until caught. He has been boarding with a trainer named Dawn here in the North Dallas area where he has transformed from a scared semi feral/feral canine to a sweet pup who wants nothing more than to bond with his person. He came to stay with me over the weekend after my son and I went to visit him at Dawn's. We wanted to see if he could be adopted out as he has had very little interest in being fostered nor adopted. Let me tell you, he is a total knucklehead. He is silly and ripe to learn all he needs to learn to become a beloved family member. He relaxed and was letting us pet him and playing tag with us within 24 hours. He found a dog bed in my house and made it his base. Duke needs someone who has patience and would like to mold him into a pet. Somewhere in his past, Duke has learned leashes are awful. He is petrified of leashes, and isn't interested in going for walks. Duke is looking for a home with a yard with a 6 foot fence minimum he loves to do zoomies and play tag with whomever with play. Duke hasn't spent much time in a house so he is not house broken yet, but Dawn is hoping to start that ASAP. He likes almost all dogs. He is learning about cats. A home with a dog savy cat would be best as if the cat runs, Duke thinks chasing is so fun! Are you willing to get this boy out of boarding and into a home where he can flourish? I am happy to answer any questions! Here is the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application We have waived the adoption fee and just charging the $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new family.

Story
URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Tyler, TX Meet Maverick! He is an 10 month old Australian Shepherd and weighs 52 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Maverick is good with younger children and cats! He hasn’t been tested around older children. He doesn’t live with dogs, but is good with dogs outside of the home! He isn’t housebroken or crate-trained. Within the past few weeks, Maverick has stated to grab his owner’s arm when they leave, because he gets anxious and senses that they are leaving. He bit her stomach on 9/12 while they were in the backyard. He acts out because of his lack of socialization and being over stimulated. This results in him barking, nipping, and jumping on people. The owner is surrendering him because their landlord doesn’t allow dogs inside of the home, so he lives outside. They are also expecting a baby and don’t have the time to provide the attention that he needs, due to their busy schedules. He needs to find his furever home by 11/3! If you think you can provide a great home for Maverick, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in helping placing Maverick. Owner’s Contact Information: Mary Kate at mmarykate19@gmail.com

If you are looking for handsome, smart, sweet, as well as dog and people friendly then you might just be looking for Biscuit! Our natural poser is 50 pounds, approximately 16 months old, and a red and cream fluffy beauty!    Biscuit is a confessed toy hoarder and skilled basketball player! He enjoys a good game of fetch and when he tires makes a great office mate. He is, of course, crate, house and leash trained!  Biscuit's forever home needs a fenced yard and another playful female dog as well as an adopter home more than not. A working from home parent who enjoys walking their pup is ideal.   To meet Biscuit in person submit our online application at www.DSDA.org/adopt.  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##1939723##

Story
Meet Rex – Your Loyal Companion Awaits! Rex is a special 8-year-old dog with a heart full of love to give. He was adopted from the Dallas Animal Shelter as a tiny two-month-old puppy and has been a faithful friend ever since. Unfortunately, his life took a turn when his owners were displaced, and he found himself living under a car for a long time. But even after enduring such hardship, Rex’s sweet nature has never wavered. Rex is a 40-pound boy who walks beautifully on a leash, goes into his kennel without a fuss, and has a calm, quiet demeanor. He’s friendly with everyone he meets, making him a remarkable companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend. He’s also the perfect size—not too big to be in the way, but just right to snuggle up with you on the couch. While Rex has tested positive for heartworms, he’s scheduled to start treatment in November, with his final injections set for December. During this time, Rex will need a calm environment, but with his laid-back personality, this should be no problem at all. We’re committed to helping Rex find a loving home where he can experience the comfort and care he deserves. Rex is looking for either a forever home or a foster home where he can stay safe, warm, and loved. He’s spent too much time without the comforts of a home, and it’s time for him to know what it’s like to be cherished indoors, whether it’s in the cool air conditioning during the summer or by the heater in the winter. Please consider giving Rex the life he’s always deserved. Meet this incredible dog, and you’ll see why he’s one of our favorites. Fill out an adoption or foster application today, and let Rex show you the true meaning of unconditional love. Adoption fee is $225 Dallas TX https://chloespetrescue.org/application
