Story
Poor precious pup was found in a field all alone. Seems like someone dumped her in the field where I walk my dogs. She was scared of my huge dogs but warmed up. She is a young pup guessing about 4 to 6 months. Sweet lovable puppy needs a loving home. Would be a great pup for kids. She is house trained. Has been crate trained.

Story
Snickers is a 4-5 months old 35-pound Australian Shepherd mix. She was left in an elderly couple's yard at night.  They had no way to care for her and were unsuccessful finding her owners. They surrendered her to Poquita Paws. Initially she was a very young and extremely frightened and insecure puppy. A PPR foster who owns a ranch and has many dogs of all sizes and temperaments and has extensive rescue experience agreed to help her. Snickers has had an amazing ranch journey. She has a bestie named Badger who is a 6-month-old 60-pound Great White Pyrenees. They can manage to make Pigpen look like a freshly shined choir boy. Rather it is a romp in the koi pond, through the pasture or up around the chickens. Every day is a great day. She has learned to tolerate her kennel for longer and longer periods of time. Snickers has nearly mastered housebreaking. This little girl would make an awesome addition to an active family and another active 4-legged friend to play with. No matter the situation she needs a yard, exercise and positive attention. Snickers has her age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, wormed, and PPR will be responsible for her spay when about 6 months old. If you would like to meet this little girl, please apply here. Her adoption fee is $300. ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Poquita Paws does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes spay/neutered, rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventrative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport to most states across the country. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to youi  Thank you. November 6, 2024, 4:32 pm

Story
Nibble, nibble, little mouse. Who is nibbling at my house? It's Gretel, of course! This girl from Uvalde is fluffy, cute, and sweeter than sugar. With her quiet disposition and cuddly nature, she will make a welcome addition to anyone’s story. Gretel is only about a year old, so she has plenty of time to adjust to her new family's lifestyle. That said, she seems to have already mastered her potty training and crate manners! Being an Australian Shepherd, It’s no surprise that Gretel is full of smarts. This breed is typically known for its intelligence and eagerness to please. Due to their high energy level, Aussies also need regular exercise and typically excel in canine sports. So, if you’re interested in checking out some local agility, herding or obedience competitions, Gretel could be a worthy candidate to train with! On the other hand, if you are seeking a love bug to cuddle up on the couch with–she seems partial to that too! Gretel arrived to us underweight and unkept, but we are ready to change her story. She is looking for an owner that can “fatten her up” with the love and care she deserves. Apply to meet Gretel today and give her a storybook ending!

Story
Hankering for a drumstick this Thanksgiving? Well, we’ve got three of ‘em right here. Yup, you read that right… We’ve got a tri-legged cutie available for adoption. And in spite of her missing leg, we think this girl is an absolute Feast! Animal Care Services rescued Feast after a mysterious accident left her gravely injured out on the streets. Her leg was mangled beyond repair, so ACS took quick action to amputate it. She was then transferred to SNIPSA for a second chance at life. Fast forward to today, and Feast is in great spirits! She is always wagging her tail and smiling in spite of her recent trauma. It’s clear that this puppy can see the shining light just ahead. Feast will need an owner committed to her care as she learns to navigate the world again. However, given that she is just four months old, we think that she will adjust in no time. Feast is quiet, friendly, and full of curiosity. She always wants to know what her humans are up to, and she certainly doesn’t let that missing leg hold her back. Feast also gets along well with other dogs, so long as they treat her with care! If you’re ready to plate up a little rescue love, this adorable girl is ready to be savored. Apply today and take home a unique, GRATEFUL new friend!

Story
Hadassah is very playful and loves attention. She wants to play with the cats but they don’t want to play with her. I think small children might be overwhelmed by her because she likes to jump up for hugs. She likes short walks and is learning to play fetch. She needs to be with someone who really has the time. She is a sweetheart
