Because I am a soft and sensitive guy :) the SMARTER a dog is, the more SENSITIVE we are to stress and distress in unknown or overwhelming situations... So, I was shut down in the loud, never quiet pound environment :( However, in the last minutes before being taken back for euthanasia, a rescue foster met me and said, I WILL FOSTER!! AND THAT, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.... SAVED MY LIFE! Well, now my life is all kinds of fun. I have foster brothers and sisters and a human brother. I also have a BUNCH of toys that I love to collect all around me! Just like the herding dog I am :) My foster mom loves me so much, but absolutely cautions to my new family that food (or even the possibility of food) sends me into a protection mode with my foster siblings (not my human sibling, but we will not adopt him into a home with small children- or as we call them, walking TREATS) and until he either gets trained out of it, or he get nutritionally stable, no food with any other dog around. Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Antioch, TN Meet Gussy! He is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd mix (the other breed is unknown) and weighs around 50 lbs. He is microchipped, but isn’t neutered, up to date on shots, or on heartworm prevention. Gussy is good with kids and most dogs! Gussy did have an incident where the neighbor’s pitbull came to the fence where Gussy was and they got into a fight. He hasn’t been tested around cats. He is housebroken, but isn’t crate-trained. The owner is surrendering him because they aren’t allowed to have a dog where they live. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Gussy, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions.
