Say hello to Duke!! He is an approx 3 year old Australian Shepherd that is the sweetest love bug ever! He loves dogs, cats, people, everything! His downfall is he will clear any fence and will come when he wants to. He is trained on invisible fence, however, and is very good with that! He will not escape a fence if you are in the yard with him but he just wants to be with his people so he will escape if left alone. Duke loves to play with other dogs and will do best in a home with a fun furry playmate. He would love an active family that will take him on adventures and let him snuggle with them at the end of the day. He is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area. Panda bear anyone?! This adorable little girl is around 8 months old (guesstimate), learning manners and potty training, and is overall perfect! We think she is an Aussie or Border Collie and something else mix of some sort based on the fur, personality, build, and eyes ... but we really have no idea. She also looks part Panda Bear ;) She loves to play with other dogs, loves attention, is treat motivated (so easy to train), and just wants a home of her own! She is still a puppy so has a lot of energy and needs training but she would be fine with children that are in a dog savy house or older children (she's going to jump, lick, and be a puppy). She is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area. For special cases we will adopt out of our immediate area and provide transport for an additional fee. Say hello to Stella! She is a young and very energetic Aussie who just wants a family to feel comfortable with that will love her, train her, and play with her. She is extremely timid at first and takes a while to settle into a routine but she just wants to play and be loved. She loves to run with the other dogs, is very good inside, and loves everyone! She is scared of the doggie door but is getting more curious so should learn in time. She is approximately 18 months old and still has a lot of puppy energy. Meet Felix! This little adorable ball of fur was completely shut down and terrified when he first came to us from the shelter. Wow what a transformation! He is still timid and scared at first but wants so badly to just play, love, snuggle, and be loved! He LOVES to play with other dogs and must have another friendly, playful pup in his new home to help continue building his confidence. He is a young adult - we are guessing around 1 year old, and about 30 lbs but could gain a pound or two. He will need a patient home that will work to build his confidence and begin to train him basic dog manners in a positive environment. He is not an option for transport so anyone interested in adopting Felix must come to Huntsville, AL to meet him. If you are interested in Felix please submit an application at forrescue.net

Story
Atlas is just over a year old, born completely deaf! He's up to date on all shots and was just neutered a couple months ago. He is crate trained and knows "sit" and "come here" in ASL. He has lived with cats and dogs (and does currently) and has had no issues. We love Atlas, but unfortunately need to rehome him because we discovered that our cat is absolutely terrified of larger dogs. We tried to make it work, but our animals just aren't compatible. We feel awful, because Atlas hasn't done anything to make the cat scared of him. He NEEDS someone who has the time, money, and energy to train a deaf dog. The only issue we've had with him is that he is aggressive towards the vet. No one else at the vet's office, never other animals, just specifically the vet themself. He also sometimes freaks out if a stranger surprises him, due to being deaf. He comes with his vet paperwork, a heavy duty leash/harness, collar, crate, etc.

Poor Lucia can make a great bond with some people. However, she can be aggressive at times. She is so loving with the ones she likes. However, to many people she is aggressive. She likes to play and take walks. With those she bonds with she is super affectionate. She loves to lick and curl up with you. She has been the longest dog we have had at our shelter. She has been with us over 4-years.
