Story
Meet Alice, our darling brown and white girl that has the most memorable face and sky high ears you have ever seen.   This girl was born around the middle of May and is thought to be combination of lots of breed influences.   For starters we think that Cattle Dog and Aussie might be a mixture that are dominant for her.  She is one smart little girl that adorable her foster family and all the other big dogs (several German Shepherds are her mentors and big sisters) and many foster cats are present as well in the home.  Her boundless happy puppy energy catapults her through the days as she grows in to a true beauty inside and out.  She is so playful and loving and always ready for the next BIG ADVENTURE!  She loves to chase toys and explore the backyard for new things to do and maybe a few squirrels to make friends with.  She absorbs whatever you teach her like a sponge.  Her foster mom is an excellent trainer and knows the importance of teaching manners and commands.  Her friendly nature makes her easy to meet new people and she is does not shy away from new experiences either.  She is a snuggler when she is tired and very loving as she sits beside you to watch a good TV show.  This girl will be an excellent recall pup since she is learning that now and is so eager to please and be with her humans.  If you are interested in this beauty who will grow to be a 45-50 pound girl, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   Let us know where you live: city and state when you are inquiring. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.December 17, 2024, 12:55 pm

Story
A very handsome dog, Linus is a great dog we really would love to keep, but due to work and travel schedules we are not making him happy. Our daughter originally had him on property with lots of room. He had a blast there, but he and his buddy dog, Lucy, were more than she could handle with her small family. We thought we could make it work, but he would be happier with a little more attention. He rarely barks, sheds just a little hair (requires trimming) and loves to be petted, loved, and played with. He'll follow you from room to room and look at you with his very sad eyes. He's always been very loyal and protective, but gentle; especially with kids and babies. He is trained for invisible fence and stays close by the house. He’s good at chasing the ball and loves to go for walks and sniff the neighborhood. Linus was just groomed with a trim and all shots. He is nervous around other dogs and at the groomers, but once he gets to know you (or neighbor dogs) is very friendly.

Story
Kara is a sweet but anxious and reactive girl. She needs lots of exercise and someone who can work on training her to be less reactive around other people. I am not able to give her the time she deserves and I have not been successful in training her. She is gaining weight because she is not getting the regular walks she needs to stay healthy. She does react to strangers, especially men, and she shows signs of aggressiveness (hackles up, growling, nipping) but she has not hurt anyone, yet. I adore her but I want her to have a home where she gets lots of attention and exercise and someone who can help her with her anxiety and reactivity. I have a personalized harness and two crates to go with her as well. She is about 3 years old, up to date in shots and in good health though starting to get a bit overweight. She seems to have some pretty serious trauma in her past so I want to find a good home that will give her the love and attention she deserves.

Story
What we know about Rusty is that his owner passed away and he was extremely sad and confused in the shelter, but has really warmed up with us and his fosters so we are so glad to see that! He seems good with other dogs and cats and does well. He is very overweight and needs to lose probably around 20lbs so his new family must be on board with continuing on his weight loss journey because it seems to be negatively affecting his ability to walk any distance, etc. He has already lost some since he has been with his fosters and we have already seen an increase in his activity level so we think this guy wants to be an active boy! Rusty was seen by the vet and thankfully they do not think his walking issues stem from an injury or issue, but from having to deal with the large amount of extra weight that he carries, but, like we mentioned, he has gotten better since he has started to lose the weight so yay for that! He has been on a pain med to help with any pain but it is very possible that as he loses more weight that his pain and discomfort will decrease and we could see the meds going down. Rusty is just an incredibly sweet guy but needs some extra help with his wellness journey but he is definitely ready to find his forever home!November 4, 2024, 1:26 pm

Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Antioch, TN Meet Gussy! He is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd mix (the other breed is unknown) and weighs around 50 lbs. He is microchipped, but isn’t neutered, up to date on shots, or on heartworm prevention. Gussy is good with kids and most dogs! Gussy did have an incident where the neighbor’s pitbull came to the fence where Gussy was and they got into a fight. He hasn’t been tested around cats. He is housebroken, but isn’t crate-trained. The owner is surrendering him because they aren’t allowed to have a dog where they live. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Gussy, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Gussy. Owner’s Contact Information: Chad at dreysonisaiah22@gmail.com

Story
In Murfreesboro Irwin is a young Australian Shepherd mix who will quickly work his way into your heart. We don’t know what the mix is, but his foster parents guess he has a little Pyrenees in him based on his paw gestures, herding style and eyes. He’s about 3 years old (though could be younger, the vet could give a better estimate if Irwin would let them look at his teeth), and 54 lbs. Irwin’s origins are unknown, then he spent several months at a rural shelter and was up for euthanasia when ASF stepped in and saved his life! He is very timid at first and took several weeks at his foster home to relax and start to show his personality. This is a recurring theme with him, he needs time and space to adjust to new people, places and things. Slow introductions to people and dogs will help Irwin to be successful in the long run. He also does best with some initial boundaries, stick to the butt scratches until he knows you please! Irwin is a medium energy dog, he needs daily exercise but he’s not an overachiever. A few 15 minute play sessions or a couple miles on a walk and he’ll be good to go. Irwin’s like his foster dad, you better get all the walking in you want to do because once he gets back to the car he’s ready to go home and take a nap. Tennis balls produce much prancing around in excitement for you to throw them in the backyard; he loves a good game of fetch. Irwin can get over excited during backyard playtimes; this is manifested in jumping and nipping (at the same time). And let me tell you this boy can JUMP. A nip on your head is easy peasy for him! He’s working on more appropriate behaviors at his foster home, but will need continued training. It’s for this reason that children should be at least 12 years old. I know he won’t bite but even at a sturdy 33 years old it’s intimidating to see him run full speed across the yard and then jump! A fenced yard would be great but must be 6 feet, a 4 foot fence won’t hold this boy. Irwin’s most defining characteristic is that he’s a big ol’ love bug. He would like constant attention! If you’re not doing anything, you should be petting him. If you’re doing something, you should be petting him. He will use his paws to pull your hand to pets if not otherwise occupied or nudge you to remind you to keep rubbing his belly. He is never more than about 15 feet from his foster mom and loves to “go” if that means staying with his people. While he can stay home alone (in a crate or uncrated), he would do best if not left alone for too long daily. If you do leave him, he will need a commensurate amount of time devoted to loving on him when you return. Irwin would do fine as an only dog or with a canine companion, just keep in mind it will take him a while to warm up to his new dog pal. Irwin is working on curbing his jumping, but you should jump at the chance to meet this charming fellow! Currently fostered in Murfreesboro, TN. There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. Here is the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application

Wags is my moms dog. Shes elderly and he’s high energy as he is a puppy. Hes good with kids and other dogs. Im not sure about cats as hes never been around one. He is a toy Aussie and super friendly and sweet. Hes had little to no command training but he is crate and house trained. He has knocked my mom down several times as she is either on a walker or a cane at all times and he likes to jump. We just want him to go to a family that will love him and can have fun with all of his energy.

Story
Momma Donna is a Kelpie/Heeler mix girl that gave birth 3 months ago to 8 beautiful, wonderful Heeler puppies. This girl is 2 years old and only 42 pounds.  She is amazingly smart and seems to know exactly what you are saying to her.  We think that Momma Donna would be a perfect addition to a home with children who want to play and teach a dog some good tricks and manners.  She is willing to learn anything. Momma Donna is nicely housebroken and ready for a totally great and new life.  Momma Donna just needs a place to belong.   So, do you have a front porch and a hole in your heart ready to be filled by a loving and devoted dog who wants to walk down the road with you every day?   Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  if you are interested in Momma Donna.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 3, 2024, 10:10 pm

Story
Please contact Vivienne (viviennejames@comcast.net) for more information about this pet.Meet Charlie Barkley.  He is a sweet, playful awesome dog who is very easy to love.  He walks on a leash but needs additional training as he pulls.  He knows some basic commands but does need a bit more training.  Charlie is a 1 to 1 1/2 year old neutered male who weighs approximately 52 lbs.  He was originally adopted by a family that decided they no longer wanted him so they dumped him in a south Nashville neighborhood.  Charlie was found by a nice family that took him but cannot keep him because they have older cats.  They would love to add him to their family but it just win't work out.  He's been vet checked,  is current on his vaccines and is in excellent health.  Charlie is full of puppy energy and ready to play ball with the children.  He needs a younger active and energetic family who can  give him the exercise and play that he needs.  A fecned in yard is a MUST for Charlie.  When not playing, by the way ball is his favorite game, he loves to snuggle and get belly rubs. Charlie is patiently waiting for his forever family to find him.  He would be a great family dog and love to have a home for the holidays.  To be considered for his forever fmaily and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.    November 19, 2024, 11:40 am

Story
We are calling them "Border Bullies"! Mama is a Border Collie, dad is a Pit Bull! I cannot imagine how smart these pups will be! They were born on October 13th. The owner of Nelly (mom) and Bruce (dad) unfortunately wound up in jail and obviously couldn't take care of this little family so they were surrendered to us on the day they were born. Both mom and dad have beautiful temperaments so I am quite sure these pups will be amazing! They will be available for adoption by January 11, 2025. They are all spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. How can you resist!! ADOPTION FEE $525
