Scared baby who needs time to learn to trust people WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $ covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Mt. Pleasant, SC Meet Cruz! He is an 2 year old Australian Shepherd/English Shepherd mix and weighs 50 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Cruz is hostile around strangers if they come into the home or try to pet him! He is fine on walks with people around. He is good with other dogs! No children, due to his reactivity! He is housebroken and crate-trained. He is on Prozac for his anxiety/distrust of strangers. Once he trusts you, he loves to snuggle! Cruz has bitten two people. He bit a gardener after they reached over the fence to try and pet him (after Cruz was already barking at him). He also bit a handyman who was at their house. The owner walked outside to grab something and didn’t realize the worker was about 10 steps behind her. The worker opened the door and walked outside, causing Cruz to run over and nip him. He also barked at him while standing between him and the owner. The owner is surrendering him because their house is too busy for him and they are expecting a baby. They have worked with veterinary behaviorists and trainers, but his fear aggression and protective tendencies haven’t improved. He needs to go by 10/1! If you think you can provide a great home for Cruz, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. The owner is willing to cover this fee and match it, for the right home. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Cruz. Owner’s Contact Information: Lauren at laurenstamey@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Rip Wheeler This handsome boy is pretty amazing and insanely sweet (once he knows you). He's a very smart boy who learns quickly. Rip is a roughly 1-1.5 (EST DOB 12/1/22) Rip house and crate trained. He knows how to sit, shake hands and we are working on his down. He still isn't walking on a leash without coaxing but we are getting there! He's just a watchy type of guy. He is VERY particular about his toys so he keeps them in his crate for safe keeping. For the most part he doesn't mind sharing but when it comes to his food, his crate or his stuffies... He's not so keen on the idea, but who can really blame him? Rip is believed to be a Australian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees mix. However I was recently told he looks like a Karakachan... Idk he's just a BIG beautiful boy! He will need to go to a family with a quiet lifestyle and a large securely fenced yard. He is not a fan of cats or rabbits. He would make the worst LSG ever. He does keep watch for hawks flying over although sometimes he gets confused and mistakes a butterfly for a bird ? He would do best in a home with no other dogs or maybe a older laid back female. He's a bit pushy with other males. He is currently used to a crate and rotate schedule. He does have stranger danger tendencies so he isn't going to be a dog park, festival, local pub kinda guy.
