Meet River, ARPH #14663, an 18 month old neutered red tri male with a higher energy level. He’s up to date on shots and preventatives; is housebroken, crate trained, and has been very good in his crate at night or when left alone at his foster home. River came to ARPH through no fault of his own from a home with two other dogs and a couple cats. Originally adopted from a shelter, he got along well with his doggy sister, but the older, intact male dog did not appreciate having River around. The situation was escalating, and the owners made the hard decision to find River a new home. River LOVES Frisbee, fetch, toys, and according to his former owners, he also loves to swim. He loves being around his people and learning new things. He already knows sit, down, shake, let it go; roll-over. River has a consistent recall when he’s not distracted by the squirrels. He was seldom on leash in his previous home, so his leash manners are a work in progress. He’s a very quick learner though, and very food motivated. He is getting used to the leash and is learning to wait before going out the door. River would do well in a home with a female playmate or as an only dog. He did live with dog savvy cats but tended to resource guard with them. No children under 16. The right home would have a traditionally fenced yard and would be someone willing to take the time to continue River's training. He definitely needs regular, consistent exercise and might be able to do dog sports or tricks. He'll be a wonderful companion and a lot of fun in the right home. River is fostered in southeast PA. Story

Lora Lee is a very sweet dog that is just 2 years old and weighs 42 pounds. She is said to be an Aussie mix with some Terrier. Whatever the mix is we think she is a most unusual and truly a beautiful girl who well with other dogs in her foster home. She is a friend to all and apparently she is house trained as long as taken out regular. Lola Lee is crate trained but cannot be left for long hours in the crate. She is not leash trained but is trying to improve. We are requesting that applicants have a fenced yard for her because she is an active girl that needs to run and play with freedom and not at the end of a leash only. This beauty loves to cuddle and be by your side like your BFF and shadow. If you have another dog that would be great for her to have a playmate that can help her wear out her energy every day. Lola Lee is a great girl and she is going to need an active family that can challenge and meet her need for exercise and be able to keep up with her. She is really not a dog for a retirement couple that are ready to have a more laidback dog with fewer exercise demands. Sweet Skye Man has come to us as one of three Aussie mix older pups that are still impressionably young at just 8 months and 19 pounds. This handsome, yet shy boy, is looking for a family that will fill his soul with love and affirmation and confidence building lessons every day. He and his siblings were raised in an outdoor kennel with little to no love and attention. They were merely fed, but yet eventually were released to our Critter Cavalry Rescue foster mom. Skye Man is a sponge for life lessons and he is so receptive to human touch and love. He is the smaller pup from his litter of three that we have in our care now. He is comfortable in a crate, but needs leash training. There's so many exciting experiences and a wonderful family waiting for him out there. This handsome boy is called Waylon and he was born July 28th 2023 and is a purebred 42 lbs mini Aussie. He has been living a charmed life out on some property in Tennessee. His parents have had a turn of events to where they will be traveling constantly in the coming years with their business. They realize how unfair it would be to keep Waylon in constant boarding. This boy loves to play and run and enjoy the great outdoors. He is not an apartment dog or a townhouse dog. He needs a good size yard or even more than that. He plays well with other dogs, but we don't know how he is with cats. He knows how to use a doggie door and his house broken and crate trained to sleep inside at night. He can come and go as he pleases but he mostly prefers being outside on the pretty days. He would be wonderful with children 8 years and above. Waylon came from a very good breeder in the Midwest and is of very high quality lineage. He will need to be in a family where someone is home off and on quite a bit and maybe also works from home. He would not be a happy dog if kept crated for 8 hours daily. All we want for Christmas is a new home for this gorgeous pure bred Aussie girl named Paisley. A kind and precious beauty that is only two years old and weighs 35-40 pounds. Freshly groomed and ready for adventure new start, this girl. Came from an elderly owner who at eighty three years of age has admitted she really does not need a young active dog to care for. Admittedly, the breeder never should have adopted an Aussie puppy to an 81 yr old woman. Two years later the elder 83 yr old owner is surrendering her pretty gitl to Critter Cavalry Rescue to find a better suited and much younger home. Paisley is indeed a bit bewildered.But she has shown us that she will be the perfect dog for the perfect family that can give her love, attention and a fenced in yard to safely run off any energy. Paisley. Loves to go for car rides and is calm and inquisitive as she gazes out the window. She is house broken and crate trained and enjoys the company of other dogs with no anxiety or intimidation. She easily walks with you on a leash and the groomer said she was very cooperative while being groomed. paisley will be a wonderful gift to yourself if you were considering a medium, young dog that is well trained and easy to be around.
