Story
Born: June 20, 2020 Weight: 40 to 45 lbs Finn is a red tri mini Australian Shepherd with the soul of a cuddle bug and the personality of a cartoon character. He is fully potty trained, extremely patient, and not vocal at all; a wonderfully quiet house companion. He is a classic Velcro dog, loves to follow his person around the house, sleep in bed with you, and soak up affection. Finn is food motivated and very snuggly, with a goofy, silly side that keeps things light and funny. His recall could use some work, and he can be reactive toward other dogs, but with patient, consistent training he could improve and potentially integrate with other pets. Finn would thrive in a calm home with someone who enjoys companionship, routine, and lots of couch cuddles.

Story
Born June 2 2021 Weight 55 lbs Carter is a bigger mini Australian Shepherd with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He has better recall than his brother and is incredibly friendly with people. He’s very food motivated and loves to play catch, run, and explore and especially at the beach, which is basically his happy place. Carter is vocal and expressive, so he’s not shy about sharing his opinions with the world. He’s playful, affectionate, and thrives with activity and engagement. Like Finn, he can be reactive toward other dogs, but with the right patience and structured introductions, he could likely learn to coexist with them. Carter would do best with someone active who enjoys outdoor adventures and doesn’t mind a chatty dog with lots of enthusiasm. They have always been considered our forever dogs, and this decision comes from wanting the very best possible future for them. Ideally they will go to the same home forever and ever

Story
Finley is 7. He is smart, athletic, and has a heart of gold for the right person, but his past has left him needing a structured environment with an experienced, motivated handler. The Best Parts of Finley 🐾 The "Suckle"; Habit: He absolutely loves his plush blankets. He carries it around proudly and then suckles on it when he's ready to nap;or prances with it to people he trusts to play tug o war until its ripped to pieces. He needs a "new"; (different) one every few weeks. High Intelligence: He is incredibly smart and "needs a job." What Finley Needs (The Transparent Truth) 🛡️ Finley came from a traumatic background involving an abusive female owner and young children.Adults Only: Absolutely no children. Slow Introductions.

Story
10 yrs old. He is potty trained, can sit, roll over, spin, stay, lay down, fetch a ball. Good with kids, other dogs and cats. Only vise he has is anxiety w/loud gunshot noises/fire works. He will try to get out any where he is. I have to put him on trazodone during new years and 4th of July holidays. He has been getting out of our backyard during the day a few times a week now, which im guessing is because he is bored & not stimulated enough. Only to the best home & w/ acreage or a farm. These dogs cant be in a small home or apt. Txt 9717627678 for more info.

Story
Josey - Sponsored by Casey JohnsonMeet JoseyJosey is a beautiful female Australian Shepherd with a sensitive soul and a heart full of love waiting to bloom. She first came to the shelter as a stray and spent months evading rescue efforts, too frightened to trust the people trying to help her. When she was finally brought to safety, it was clear that Josey had been through a lot and would need time to learn that the world can be kind. When you first meet her, she may seem nervous or unsure. The world can feel a little overwhelming to Josey at times, and when she’s frightened her first instinct is to run. Because of this, she will need a secure, fully fenced yard and a family who understands that off-leash adventures won’t be the right fit for her—especially during her first several months in a new home.Josey is looking for a calm, patient, and experienced dog owner who will let her move at her own pace. She needs someone who understands that trust is something special to be earned, not rushed. For the person willing to give her that time and understanding, the reward is extraordinary.Once Josey feels safe, she forms a deep and devoted bond with her person. She becomes incredibly affectionate, offering sweet, gentle kisses and happily sticking close by your side. More than anything, Josey wants to be near her people—her safe place. This lovely girl may need patience at first, but for the right home, she will return that patience with a lifetime of quiet loyalty and deep love. Josey isn’t just looking for a home—she’s looking for her person. And for someone willing to give her the time she deserves, she will be worth every moment. If you believe in the beauty of earning a shy dog’s trust, Josey may be the perfect companion for you.If you are interested in meeting Josey, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday 11am – 6pm, Sunday 11am – 4pm.If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Story
Bryce is Sponsored by Anne MeinertHey - I’m Bryce. I give off strong “cool guy” energy. Confident walk, happy expression, the kind of presence that makes you think I’m running the show. And honestly? I don’t mind letting people believe that. In another life, I was definitely the president of my fraternity—natural leader, undeniable charisma, everyone knew who was in charge. But here’s the truth I don’t advertise.Behind the cool, pretty boy exterior is a dog who lives for affection. I like to act like I’m supervising things, keeping order, making sure everything’s under control… but if you sit down, I’m suddenly very interested in being right next to you. A well-timed belly rub or chest scratch and my tough-guy act disappears completely.I’m affectionate, loyal, and happiest when I’m close to my people. I enjoy being involved in whatever you’re doing, whether that’s lounging on the couch or going for a hike. I may pretend I’m the boss, but what I really want is connection, comfort, and a home where I can relax and be myself. I will thrive with consistent daily exercise and mental stimulation. If you’re looking for a dog with confidence, charm, and a secretly soft heart, I think we’ll get along just fine.I’ll keep up the tough act - you just keep the belly rubs coming. Due to additional adoption requirements for this special boy, we require a pre-application to be submitted and approved prior to scheduling a meet-and-greet. We are unable to accommodate walk-ins, as we want to ensure the best match while minimizing unnecessary stress for him.If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Please follow the instructions on each pet profile.
