Story
Piper will be 2 years old in December. He LOVES other dogs and won’t be happy unless he has a sister or brother to play with. Piper has been through a lot in his short life including enduring the loss of one of his owners (my husband) followed by an influx of live-in relatives and extra dogs. Somehow Piper became very protective of me beyond all reason and I cannot live with him. When I am gone he is normal, has nothing to protect and is happy with the other people and another dog who live here. As soon as I come back he is in protector mode again. I can be gone an hour or many days and it is always the same. He has been through a basic obedience course and can sit/stay. He is quite smart. I have discussed his problem with my veterinarian and trainers and the consensus is that I am somehow his problem, and he will be fine when he gets away from me. Piper needs a large-ish fenced yard or acreage. He has lots of energy and is used to being around people and dogs all the time.

Story
Willow is a 5 year old Australian Shepherd. I have only had her 4 months. She just isnt fitting in with our family. She has some behavior issues I cant seem to fix. We have property for her to run and play ball. She seems to know her boundaries and stays in the yard. She can be very nervous in the house and bark at the slightest noise. She needs a large yard if its fenced. I dont know how she does with kids. She growls at my son and friend. She likes my brother though. She is treat protective. If you are seriously interested please contact me through email. ljofitz60@gmail.com There is a fee of $500. I wasn't able to add it for some reason.

Story
*** Apply to adopt at: https://greatheartk9.com/finn Finn is a 5 year old ‘mini’ Australian Shepherd. As with his breed, he is full of energy and extremely smart!! His favorite thing is to play fetch. He absolutely loves to learn new things and train. He enjoys putting his brain to work for mealtime with various puzzles and snuffle mats. Finn has challenges on walks with regards to reactivity towards people and dogs and will require continued training. He will also need his adopter to continue working on noise desensitization to triggers. Finn is on behavior modification medications and these will need to be continued for him to thrive. Finn is searching for a special person who is calm, patient and committed to positive reinforcement training. He would do best in a house with a large yard with space from neighbors and is used to his human working from home.. He cannot be in a home with either cats Please email any additional questions: hello@greatheartk9.com IG: @Adoptfinnpdx

Story
Ellie is an incredibly smart, loving, and high energy dog that struggles with some anxiety and reactivity after being attacked by a dog when she was a puppy. She would love to be in a home with someone who loves playing fetch, hide and seek, and loves to cuddle. She bonds with people easily, but does not do well with small children (the reason we have to rehome her), dogs, or cats. She likes to hike and run, and would do well in a household where she has access to a yard or acreage. Ellie gets stressed out with loud noises and busy environments and will need continued and constant training with leash walking, recall, and staying calm. She would be a good dog for an experienced dog owner, preferably someone who understands how to mentally and physically stimulate herding dogs.
