Story
I'm moving across the country and will be out of the country a lot too. My family can't take on another dog for the period of time I'll be gone.Riley is a very sweet and busy dog, she needs a lot of interaction and things to do. She loves playing with her ball and her feeder toys. She's always ready to play. She's not well socialized with other dogs and people but it only takes a little while for her to calm down and then she's best friends. My favorite part of her is how she how she likes to sleep in late on the weekends and stay in bed and cuddle.

Story
Arlo is his name and his gentle eyes match his heart perfectly! Arlo is currently fostered in a loving home with three kids (ages 4–12), and his daily routine reads like a cozy family story. Mornings start with breakfast and a short walk to the bus stop with the kids, followed by backyard zoomies and toy time with his small dog buddy. Then it’s nap time… until the kids come home and it’s right back to play, connection, and winding down together for the evening. He is house and crate trained, knows the rhythm of home life, and truly thrives when he knows where his people are. Go watch Arlo on YouTube, then come right back to read more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw53vBp1SkA Arlo is estimated to be 1 year old, he weighs 48 lbs and may be a husky/shepherd mix but of course, he is a rescue so we cannot guarantee age or breed. Arlo’s foster has had a wonderful front row seat to the Arlo show and shared so much about him. We lovingly call him a “slow bloom, big reward” kind of dog. He can be shy when meeting new people and may hang back at first, taking everything in from a safe distance and in these moments you see just how adoring and devoted he is. This is when he looks to his person for reassurance while he figures things out. But with a little time, a little patience, and a steady routine… on the other side you have the sweetest, most devoted boy who just wants to be close to you. One thing that helps Arlo feel his best is having a canine buddy, especially a smaller dog. He absolutely lights up around his little foster sibling, following along, playing, and gaining confidence just by having that companionship. Bigger dogs can feel a bit overwhelming for him right now, so a home with a smaller, friendly dog or a calm, easygoing larger dog (with a thoughtful introduction and decompression time) would be ideal. Arlo would feel most comfortable in a home with a yard where he can settle in and build confidence at his own pace. Walks in busy or unfamiliar places can feel like a lot for him right now, but he’s a smart, trainable boy who just needs time, consistency, and someone willing to show him the world can be a safe and gentle place. If you’ve ever loved a shy dog, you already know… there is something incredibly special about earning their trust. Arlo isn’t trying to be everyone’s dog. He’s waiting to be someone’s dog. And when he is, it’s the kind of bond that feels steady and true. Are you Arlo’s person? Apply today and welcome home a gentle family boy who just might become your favorite little shadow. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/697b7a35063e5fe841006850 Questions? Story
We are genuinely not sure how Jesse Bear is a real dog and not a living, breathing teddy bear someone accidentally brought to life. Everything about him is ridiculously cute. From his fluffy little teddy bear face to his constant happy smile, he has this soft, gentle look about him that instantly makes you want to hug him. And honestly? His personality is even sweeter. Jesse Bear is one of those dogs that just seems genuinely happy to be included in whatever is going on. Hanging out in the yard? Amazing. Following you around while you do chores? Best day ever. Snuggling up next to you for attention? Absolutely yes. He has such a gentle, affectionate way about him and naturally leans into people for love like it’s his favorite thing in the world. Being around Jesse just feels easy and comforting, like he’s the type of dog that quickly becomes everyone’s favorite without even trying. Watch his video and fall in love with his sweet personality: https://youtu.be/0ebYmBsgiGU?si=CTo1VpNSKPTnczOV Jesse Bear is believed to be a Shepherd/Husky mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 52 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. We do know that Jesse is as sweet as they come, and to add to his greatness, he is essentially a real life teddy bear with that adorable sweet face of his. This handsome boy has such an easygoing, gentle nature about him and truly seems happiest just being around his people and included in whatever is going on. From what we’ve seen so far, Jesse has been friendly with everyone he has met and has this calm, affectionate way of leaning into people for love that is impossible not to adore. He’s the kind of dog you can picture as your little sidekick for everyday life. Whether that’s hanging out around the house, going on casual adventures, or snuggling up with you at the end of the day. And fair warning now… your camera roll is absolutely going to be taken over by pictures of his ridiculously cute face. Jesse has been around kids ages 5-8 years old and has been nothing but gentle around young kids. While he was with the kids, he did seem to gravitate more towards the 8 year old boy more. Jesse was leaning into him for affection and would keep going back to him and would give him gentle kisses. We do believe that she would be happiest in a home with kids 8 years old and older. Jesse is dog friendly and has done well with the dogs we have introduced to him so far. He has been with dogs his size and dogs smaller than him as well. When it comes to play time, he is good about matching the energy of the other dogs. He will play when play is invited and will enjoy those relaxing hangout moments too. When he does play, it’s consistent with running around, playing games of chase, and with the right dog he’ll engage in more physical type play. Jesse has shared affection with other dogs with no issues and has shared treats around other dogs too. He is a sweet guy that has shown to have such a go with the flow type of personality. Jesse also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. He did not chase Biggie, nor was he bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around him as well. We do not know if he has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing him with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for Jesse to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Jesse’s ideal home would include a fenced-in backyard rather than an apartment. He loves being outside, exploring, zooming, soaking up the sunshine, and enjoying all the smells. A yard where he can do all his favorite things would make him one happy boy. At the end of the day, Jesse just wants to be with you. Whether that’s snuggling on the couch, going for a walk, sitting out on the porch, heading out on a little adventure, or even going on a camping trip, he’s in. Work from home? He'll be the best coworker too. Just don't go running to HR because he's smooching on you. Honestly, as long as he’s with his people, he’s exactly where he wants to be. We are willing to test Jesse Bear with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Meet Roma — your future best friend, personal comedian, and professional heart-stealer all wrapped up in one tiny, wiggly package. At just 3 months old, Roma is already overflowing with personality. She’s the kind of puppy who makes every day feel brighter and a lot more fun. Playful, curious, and endlessly sweet, Roma turns even the simplest moments into an adventure. Whether she’s bouncing after a toy, romping around with her dog friends, or exploring something new, she does it all with a happy, tail-wagging enthusiasm that’s impossible to resist. Watch her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/sce0rceiGXA?si=7bn7aO2qSwpfU6O2 Roma absolutely loves other dogs and thrives in their company. She would do wonderfully in a home with a playful canine companion who can help show her the ropes and keep up with her puppy energy. She’s also incredibly people-focused and adores attention — she wants to be where you are, involved in your day, and soaking up every bit of love and affection you have to give. Even at her young age, Roma is already showing how smart and adaptable she is. She’s learning her leash skills very well and is picking things up quickly, making great progress with guidance and consistency. She’s also been to multiple events with lots of people and kids and handled it all beautifully. She takes new experiences in stride, showing a confident, social, and easygoing nature that makes her stand out. Of course, Roma is still a young puppy, which means she’ll need a family ready to continue her training with patience, structure, and positive reinforcement. She’s at the perfect age to build strong habits, and with her possible Australian Shepherd and Lab mix, she’s likely to grow into an intelligent, loyal, and active companion who will thrive with both mental and physical enrichment. Roma’s energy is joyful and contagious. She’ll keep you laughing with her silly, playful antics, then happily settle in for cuddles when she’s ready to recharge. She brings that perfect mix of fun and affection that makes life with a puppy so special. Because she’s so young, Roma will do best in a home that can give her plenty of time, attention, and continued socialization. Puppies like her need guidance and commitment, but in return, she’ll give you a lifetime of love, loyalty, and companionship. If you’ve been looking for a puppy who is as sweet as she is spirited, as loving as she is lively, Roma might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to find a forever family who will grow with her, guide her, and love her every step of the way. Adopt Roma and see just how quickly she’ll steal your heart. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69bf3b062cd5ecbbc00713d7 Questions? Story
Tyson is one of those dogs where you can almost see the thoughtfulness behind his eyes. A gorgeous, fluffy, aussie-looking boy with a soft expression and a very gentle spirit, he is estimated to be around 1.5 years old and weighs 46 lbs. Rescue rules apply, of course, so breed and age are our best guess, but what we can say for certain is that Tyson is a deeply sensitive dog looking for a calm, understanding home. Go watch Tyson Tenderheart on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this gorgeous boy. https://youtu.be/IclVKW5PpYI Tyson is currently fostered in a loving home with another dog, several cats, and teenagers. His foster shared that he is medium energy and very well balanced. In the home, he enjoys bouncing around the yard with his canine friend, happily joining in play and following his lead. His foster describes him as a wonderful playmate and an easy companion to live with. He is both house and crate trained and, in one of those tiny details that somehow says a lot about a dog, he will often choose to hang out in his crate entertaining himself with toys even when the crate door is standing wide open. His crate feels like his little clubhouse/his comfort zone. In new environments and busy situations Tyson can appear unsure. He tends to cope with stress by quietly trying to make himself small rather than reacting outwardly. No aggression, no conflict, no drama whatsoever, just a very sweet observational, caution. Tyson’s instinct is simply to avoid pressure and look for safety. He will benefit from a home and people that understand he is a dog who needs patience instead of pushing, soft voices instead of force, and who understand that trust is something earned gently over time. The really lovely thing about Tyson though is that underneath the moments of uncertainty is a very sweet dog who clearly wants connection once he feels secure. His foster sees his personality emerging more and more everyday at home, and that is often how dogs like Tyson bloom. A little tail wag here. A love lean into your chest. A playful bounce. Choosing to stay close. Sensitive dogs are incredibly rewarding companions because every bit of trust feels genuine and deeply meaningful. Tyson would do best in a quieter home with a yard, another friendly and confident dog, and adopters who appreciate a softer soul. Apartments, busy social homes, or homes with a revolving door of visitors would likely be overwhelming for him right now. He has done well living with another dog and would likely continue to benefit greatly from a canine companion to help him feel secure. He may also be able to live with calm, dog-savvy cats as he is currently. This boy isn’t showing up in sunglasses, working the room and making friends with strangers by the end of night. He is making quiet, meaningful moments that will turn into a life long friendship. Tyson is for the people who understand that some dogs are quieter stories. Just imagine the moment you look over to see him asleep beside you without a worry in the world. That is a moment that feels overwhelmingly heartwarming. This boy is a gorgeous face and a golden-good heart that will not be available for long. Someone is going to be incredibly lucky to have him! She enjoys relaxing at home, going on walks, and being part of the family. She would do best as the only pet in the home. While she’s wonderful with people, she becomes stressed around other dogs and needs a calm environment where she doesn’t have to share space with them. Because of this, we’re looking for a home experienced with dogs or someone committed to giving her a structured, loving environment where she can thrive. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, and we’re committed to finding her the right fit — not just the fastest fit. We’ll happily answer questions and want to make sure it’s a great match for both her and her future family. She deserves a home where she can feel safe, loved, and fully relaxed.
