Story
Hello! My name is Atlas!I am a very sensitive soul who is on the lookout for a family that has some herding breed experience. I am a sweetheart who enjoys affection once I feel comfortable, which does take some time. I am very smart but can get easily overwhelmed, so it`s important my new family uses a strictly positive and gentle approach to my training and handling.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No, due to my timid nature I’m looking for an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: Yes, I seem to be fine with canine companionship but may not be ready to play right away or at all.CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I’m looking for a home with previous dog experience, ideally herding breed or sensitive dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Recommended.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my timid nature and tendency to get overwhelmed by people getting into my personal bubble.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium. HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes, but still expect accidents as I adjust to the routine. If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!

Story
My name is Sarah Jessica Barker. I'm a 1 year old Australian Sheppard mix with the prettiest eyes. I'm a little bit of a nervous girl who takes her time when warming up to people, but once I'm there, boy am I love bug! Whoever ends up loving and adopting me should know that it will take a few meet and greets before I can go home. I'm not sure where my anxiety stems from, but when I get nervous, I like to hide in my crate, so it's important for me to have a safe space in my future home that I can retreat to. I like it when people take things really slow with me, go at my speed, and allow me to decide if I want to be touched or not.I have so many sweet quirks - for example, my favourite staff member taught me a gesture that means it's time for pets! This gesture helps me decide if I want to be touched or if I'm not ready for it yet. I like being offered plenty of choices, which is important especially since I'm so anxious. It's essential for me to go to a home with a dog-friendly dog to best help me transition into my new home. I love love love having a furry friend, you can see my silly and confident side come out the moment I hang out with a fellow canine!I would do best in a home without children because little people scare me when they move too fast. I have some boundaries, especially with touch, and kids might not understand that when they're younger. I'm sure I'd get along with anyone who is a teenager and older as long as they understand my needs. It's important for my future adopters to be willing to be patient with me and who are willing to help me through my anxiety. I know you're out there and I can't wait to meet you! Primary Color: Brindle Secondary Color: Brindle Weight: 26.3 Age: 1yrs 2mths 0wks

Story
Name, age, breed: Whitney, 7m, Australian Shepard mix Likes: Meeting new people and new animals! She loves going for long walks and learning how to dog. She`s a big snuggle bug. She sleeps during the day and gets her puppy zoomies at night, which is her favourite time to play with toys. Dislikes: being in her crate while her humans are still up and out of the room. New places are still a little scary. What would be the ideal home? Room to run around and play. Could do well with another dog for confidence but could be a solo dog if her humans helped and encouraged her to be adventurous and social. Good with other cats? Yes, is fairly neutral towards them and would be good with a dog savvy cat.Good with dogs? Yes, loves them!Good with children? Yes, good with everyone really.Temperament: She`s very friendly and loving. Fairly low-key for a puppy (chills during the daytime), but does get big energy in the evening. She`s very sweet and breaking out of her shy shell.Motivators? Treats, praise, confident pals.Any commands? Just sit so far, she`s working on lay down and recall (she`s just starting to know her name).House trained? Getting so much better, but there are occasional accidents if she`s left alone for too long.Crate trained? Also getting better at. She whines to start but eventually settles. How long will it take to settle into a new environment? A few weeksAny special needs or traits an adopter should know? She has a low appetite, she likes to graze on her food throughout the day. Pretty good on leash so far!If you think Whitney is the one for you - fill out an application today!
