My name is Sarah Jessica Barker. I'm a 1 year old Australian Sheppard mix with the prettiest eyes. I'm a little bit of a nervous girl who takes her time when warming up to people, but once I'm there, boy am I love bug! Whoever ends up loving and adopting me should know that it will take a few meet and greets before I can go home. I'm not sure where my anxiety stems from, but when I get nervous, I like to hide in my crate, so it's important for me to have a safe space in my future home that I can retreat to. I like it when people take things really slow with me, go at my speed, and allow me to decide if I want to be touched or not.I have so many sweet quirks - for example, my favourite staff member taught me a gesture that means it's time for pets! This gesture helps me decide if I want to be touched or if I'm not ready for it yet. I like being offered plenty of choices, which is important especially since I'm so anxious.It's essential for me to go to a home with a dog-friendly dog to best help me transition into my new home. I love love love having a furry friend, you can see my silly and confident side come out the moment I hang out with a fellow canine!I would do best in a home without children because little people scare me when they move too fast. I have some boundaries, especially with touch, and kids might not understand that when they're younger. I'm sure I'd get along with anyone who is a teenager and older as long as they understand my needs.
