Story
Bindi is a 4 year and 8 month old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix weighing 36 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to not being able to provide the time and attention she needs. Potential adopters required to understand breed specific needs. Bindi is a high energy dog and needs an active family, she will not do well if left alone for any period of time. Bindi can be timid with strangers, letting her approach you is best. Once she knows you, she's a very sweet girl and loves belly rubs. Bindi is very smart, quick to listen to commands, she's been through puppy training and basic obedience classes. She loves to be outside and go on adventures, good at parks. She LOVES to play fetch, a tennis ball is her favorite toy. If she does not have a daily outlet for her energy and need to "work" or is left alone she becomes very anxious. When she becomes bored she gets herself into trouble. She is good but selective with other dogs, another dog in the home may help her thrive, she can resource guard with her toys and other dogs-supervision needed at all times with toys. Good with children over 12 who will understand her boundaries. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!

Story
Hi, I'm Oliver! I'm an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix.I have long, black and white fur that needs groomed pretty often and I even have a special trait called Heterochromia! That means I have two different colored eyes, so one eye is blue and one eye is brown.I was recently surrendered to the nice people at FDHS because I need a home where I can get all of my energy out every day and someone willing to work not only my body, but my brain too! I really love humans and am known for crawling into someone's lap for an extra snuggle or two. I did struggle with the little human that lived in the previous home with me. I liked him and all, but sometimes his energy would give me anxiety. I really would like a home with older or no kids.I lived in a home with another Border Collie mix and got along great with her! I am known for playing a little rough and would love a playmate that can handle my tough-and-tumble play. I'm a very high-energy boy who loves to run and play fetch with anything you can throw! I like to pull on leash, so I would do best in a home with a fenced yard or someone who doesn't mind running after leaves and squirrels on long walks! I'd do the best in a home where someone can teach me to run around without a fence or a leash! I tried to do training before, but I was just a little guy and I didn't listen the best!I'm a very smart dog, so I figure out a lot of things quickly! I can open sliding doors, wiggle my way into trash cans, and even get on top of tall things like fridges. But since I'm so smart, I'd learn how to adapt to a new home really well! Because of my breed, I have a lot of instincts. I like to herd my humans when they leave the house, so I'll nip at their ankles or butts. I don't mean anything when I do it, but I can't help it. I do a really good job at herding things!I have been introduced to cats, but they're not my cup of tea and I'd do best in a home without them.I may have a bit of a history, but I have so much love to give to my new family. If you need a snuggly, loving and full-of-energy kind of guy to fill your home, I'd love for you to consider making me apart of your family!
