Story
We took in four Australian Shepherd puppies from an 'accidental litter' We were told they were born mid March. (but seem slightly older)2 males Alfie & Asa 'Ace-uh', and 2 females Arla and Abily. They are new to us and we are just getting them started on life skills. Doing great in the crate, ride quietly in the car (crated), used to the leash now, and working on housebreaking and socializing to the outside world. The boys met a cat at the vet clinic today and didn't even acknowledge it's existence. Alfie is the smallest of them all weighing in at 21 pounds, and is outgoing. He can be shy at first but warms up quickly. Loves ro play with the other dogs in the yard, and follows them around for the daily routine. Asa is more shy and cautious. He saw I child at the vet clinic and was very nervous about her. He is sweet and wags his tail when you pet and give attention, but is too nervous to approach you at first. This animal is current on all age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and spay/neuter scheduled appointment for July 25th. They have also been given flea prevention. Adoption fee is $350.00. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an application. www.ajssearchandrescue.org/adoption-applicationJune 29, 2024, 11:32 am

Story
Truly is 1.5 years old! She is a great companion and very loyal! She is very smart and easily trained. She is very energetic and needs excess space to run and exercise. She gets along with most male dogs and with proper introductions, she is good with female dogs. She has not been exposed to kids so I cannot speak on her compatibility with them. She tends to fear grown men at first but with a little time, she will grow to love them. Truly is one of the best pets you’ll ever find and deserves the most loving but also patient home as she comes with more energy than most dogs.

Story
Perth, named for a city in Australia is a sweet Australian Shepherd puppy. The Pups were born January 1, 2024. They are sweet, smart, have all their first shots (distemper/parvo/lepto, Bordetella, one year rabies) been microchipped, and are on heartworm/flea meds and are wormed. Perth has the cutest freckled legs.  To adopt this beautiful puppy, please do our non-obligatory application at www.pawsandprayers.org and we will see if it is a good fit for you and the pup. Any questions, email marty@pawsandprayers.org .We are requiring a fenced yard for these puppies. Australian Shepherds are herding dogs so probably would not be good for childen under 6.  Thinking about a new puppy….. things to keep in mind: Puppy will need time, training, love and connection, mixed in with a load of attention. Best if children are school age or older; we will consider younger children only on exception basis. Puppies have small bladders and need to have someone to let them out regularly for potty breaks…..work from home, work part-time, come home at lunch…..need a plan as they will need you every 4 to 5 hours until they are at least 6 to 8 months old. Will your current pet be willing to accept a new puppy. Puppies can be a handful. Will you be traveling extensively for the next couple of months? Puppy proofing your home is like baby proofing you home; it requires effort. Puppies can go to their new homes from 8 weeks, but holding on a little longer and letting them go around 12 weeks can be really beneficial, as their development and socializing will be a lot more established by that point. Those few extra weeks can make a big difference in how they act in their new home….. more social, less nippy. The adoption fee is $400. June 28, 2024, 1:23 pm
