Story
Hi, I'm Oliver!! I'm an Australian Shepherd, but my parents think I may be mixed with another breed because I am one special fella! I have long, black and white fur that needs groomed pretty often and I even have a special trait called Heterochromia! That means I have two different colored eyes, so one eye is blue and one eye is brown.I found myself at FDHS because my mom and dad say I need a home where I can get all of my energy out every day and help someone with their farming or yard work! I really love my family, and sometimes I try to crawl into everyone's laps to get belly rubs. I've adapted to spending some of my day relaxing, but I am just itching to find a home where I can't really put my skills to work!Right now, I'm in a home with my fur sister, she's a Border Collie! We get along great and I love to play with her, but I do like to play pretty rough! I also have a little human brother that my mom and dad brought home. He's okay, but sometimes his energy makes me nervous and I don't show my anxiety in the best way. I think I'd like a home that has kids old enough to give me some peace and quiet and some alone time! I'm a very high-energy boy who loves to run and play fetch with anything you can throw! I like to pull on leash, so I would do best in a home with a fenced yard or someone who doesn't mind running after leaves and squirrels on long walks! I'd do the best in a home where someone can teach me to run around without a fence or a leash! I tried to do training before, but I was just a little guy and I didn't listen the best!I'm a very smart dog, so I figure out a lot of things quickly! I can open sliding doors, wiggle my way into trash cans, and even get on top of tall things like fridges. But since I'm so smart, I'd learn how to adapt to a new home really well! Because of my breed, I have a lot of instincts. I like to herd my family when they leave the house or when they're playing with my human brother, so I'll nip at their ankles or butts. I don't mean anything when I do it, but I can't help it. I do a really good job at herding things! I don't do the best in kennels, they make me very anxious. The vet, groomer, and thunderstorms also make me really anxious, so my mom and dad always give me special medicine to make me feel better so I can look my best and be okay! I don't like to chew on anything other than toys or trash, so if you leave me at home, I'll be okay if the trash is put away.If you have other dogs, I'd just need slow introductions to help me feel comfortable. I have been introduced to cats, but they're not my cup of tea and I'd do best in a home without them. I may have a bit of a history, but I have so much love to give to my new family. If you need a snuggly, loving and full-of-energy kind of guy to fill your home, I'd love for you to consider making me apart of your family!
