Story
Meet Dayton, an almost 2 yr old (DOB 5/15/2023) mini Australian shepherd who weighs in at 28 pounds. Dayton came to ASF from a puppy mill. He is a sweet, busy, energetic boy. He wants to know what’s going on in his world at all times. He needs something to keep him busy or he will find something to keep himself busy, whether or not he should. At the same time, he loves attention and being petted and has the softest fur ever!! Dayton’s ideal home would have another, friendly, young, playful dog to run with and help burn off some of his boundless energy. His home needs a fenced yard. He would do best with someone who is home with him often, as he does tend to get himself into mischief when left to his own devices. He has not been around children, but he would love his own (older) children to play with. Dayton can be quite vocal at times, so an apartment or townhome sharing walls with others would not be a good fit. A home with no cats (or other small animals) is definitely preferred. Although he is not aggressive with cats, he obsesses on them… will stare at them and bark at them tirelessly. He focuses on them so intently, that he doesn’t see or hear anything else, including his human. Dayton is housebroken but will need to be taken out on a regular schedule to keep him from having accidents in the house. He is also crate trained and will sleep in it quietly through the night. Dayton is UTD on his vaccines, is microchipped, and on HW and flea prevention. Dayton was born with his lower jaw shorter than his upper jaw. This doesn’t seem to cause him any issues, one of his favorite things is to chew on a bone. If you think Dayton is the perfect pup for you, please fill out an application at https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. Dayton is currently located in Jackson, OH.

Story
Hi. My name is Ferrari. My brothers, sister, and I were surrendered to ASF from a backyard breeder who got mad because we didn’t sell for Christmas presents. My favorite thing in the world is being held and getting pets and belly rubs and scratchies behind my ears. Foster mom sometimes calls me Snuggle Bug because sometimes she has to put me in my kennel so I will eat because I’d much rather get lovins. I’ve had fun here, but one of my brothers has found his furever home and I’m ready to find my own family to live with, too. I love playing with my littermates and my foster mom’s big dogs. I would love to have another friendly dog to play with. Foster mom says she thinks I would love to have some little humans to call my own. She says I have to remember to not jump up on them (I’m really trying to do better) but she is happy that I don’t tend to nip at all. I’ve not seen little humans before, but if they can give me extra lovins, I’m all in. A few other things to know about me. My birthday was 11/3/2024. I’m a pretty good sized boy, I was 15.5# at my 12 week checkup and foster mom says I have big feet (not sure if I should be offended or not). She also says I have the most adorable freckles on my nose so I guess I’ll forgive her for the feet comment. I’m working on this potty training thing. My new family will have to be patient with me while I figure it all out. If you think you want to love me for the rest of my life, please fill out an application at https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to my new furever family and a REFUNDABLE $50 neuter deposit that will be refunded upon proof of procedure.

Hi. My name is Kia. My brothers and I were surrendered to ASF from a backyard breeder who got mad because we didn’t sell for Christmas presents. I love to get pets and belly rubs and scratchies behind my ears. I’m not so sure about being held yet, but I definitely like to cuddle up close. Foster mom sometimes calls me Princess because I think I run the whole place. I definitely keep my bigger brothers in their place. There isn’t much that intimidates me and I will tell you about it if need be. I’ve had fun here, but one of my brothers has found his furever home and I’m ready to find my own family to live with, too. I love playing with my littermates and my foster mom’s big dogs. I’ve not seen little humans before, but if they can give me extra lovins, and attention, I’m all in. A few other things to know about me. My birthday was 11/3/2024. I’m a petite little girl, I was 11.8# at my 12 week checkup (I did gain almost 2 pounds from my 9 week appointment). Everyone who sees me says how cute I am. My little nubbin tends to stand straight up when I’m happy and it wiggles a lot! I’m working on this potty training thing. My new family will have to be patient with me while I figure it all out.
