Story
Poor Oakley has had a whole lot of bad luck in his life. He was found as a stray, but not before being hit by a car. He ended up with a fractured femur. He was picked up by Animal contro and sat in a Cell for a while before being put on the euthanasia list. We couldn’t stand to see this handsome, young guy lose his life without ever knowing how wonderful life and even humans could be, so we tagged him and brought him to Ohio to have surgery on his leg. Sadly, the first orthopedic surgeon we saw Said the break was so severe, added with the amount of time that had passed since the accident, we would need to amputate. We decided to week a second opinion and this time the doctor believed he could fix it. So we went forward with the surgery. He is 10 weeks post surgery and doing very well. He needs an adopter who will take their time with him for a short while as he continues his journey to complete healing. Oakley is working on his housetraining and does very well, but hasn’t totally mastered it yet.

Story
Hi! Legend here! Yes, I have GORGEOUS BLUE EYES!!!I am a super friendly 3-4 year old male Australian Shepherd /Collie/ mix (they think;) that weighs 43 pounds. I do have rather longish fluffy fur so regular grooming will keep me looking my best. I have good basic manners and I do know sit and take treats very gently. I love to lean against my human when I sit next to them. I did great in the car on the way to the shelter and I walk well on the leash! I attended a few adoption events iand did very well with the other dogs in attendance. I even played with a pup who caught my interest. I interacted well with human visitors too. Wont you please come meet me?Yours (I hope),Legend ***As long as our dogs are on the website they are available. Applications can be found at CanineCollective.org***Note: Without a DNA test or direct information about the parents, the breed listed is based on our best guess or from the use of a breed identification app

Story
Meet Hannah! Hannah needs a patient foster to help her acclimate to indoor living. Hannah raised a couple litters of puppies as a stray. We trapped Hannah and also took in one older pup and three young puppies (Hannah is the presumed mother of all four).Despite living as a stray and not having much interaction with humans, Hannah has done surprisingly well acclimating. She is comfortable in a crate and doesnt mind other dogs or cats. She comes when called and lets both adults and children approach and pet her now.Due to Hannahs background, we will require the foster to have a securely fenced yard. Hannahs biggest struggle is with leash training. She has chewed through two leashes so far. She does go to the door when she wants to potty (so we assume at one point she did live indoors) but startles at the sight of a leash.Hannah has the potential to be a terrific dog! She just needs a little help with leash-walking and some time to decompress.Fostering or foster-to-adopt are both options and we can provide a crate, baby gates, harnesses, and leashes to help accommodate Hannah in your home. Her adoption fee, should you choose to adopt, is $250. That includes her future spay as well as heartworm testing, preventatives, and vaccinations.Apply at ricopetrecovery.org if you are interested in fostering or fostering-to-adopt Miss Hannah.

Story
Belle and her siblings were saved by one of our foster families when mom was unable to feed them at 4 weeks. Our fosters took turns throughout the day and night making sure they ate every 4 hours and got lots of love and attention . Belle has the softest fur! Belle is currently 5 months and 27 pounds so she will not be a big dog. Mom was said to be an Aussie mix and dad was unknown. They have been raised with kids, other dogs, lots of snuggling and even occasionally accompanied their fosters to work. Apply to meet them at ricopetrecovery.orgFee is $350 and will cover first 2 sets of vaccines spay and microchip. Third and fourth set of vaccines are covered by the owner.
