Name: Mercedes Gender: Female Approximate age: 2-3 years old Breed: Mixed Approximate weight: 36 lbs Impairments: none Potty trained: yes Crate trained: yes Good with dogs: yes Good with cats: unsure, probably just curious Good with kids: older kids, not tested with young kids. Needs fenced yard: preferred but not necessary. Needs other dogs: she could be an only dog or enjoy a fur sibling Location: Columbus, Ohio Energy level: medium Woof!! I’m Mercedes, a sweet and sassy Lovebug! I’m a 2-3 year old female Mixed breed. I weigh 36 pounds and am the perfect size. I am potty trained, crate trained and good with other animals. It may take me a while to warm up to you but once I do, we can be best friends! I like to follow around my foster mom and sit right next to her, as close as I possibly can and I’m also easily redirected to my bed when she needs some space. I bark at the people and dogs walking by the house but I am very friendly when I meet them on walks and at the dog park. I like playing with all kinds of toys and bones, eating yummy snacks, going for walks and taking a nap. I also love a good game of fetch including bringing the ball right back to you and dropping it at your feet. Before coming to SPEAK I was a stray and needed surgery on my hip after being hit by a car. I am much happier now that I have healed can run around. I will need some hikes and runs at the park to continue to progress and build muscle in my back leg and some patience to work on my confidence. I promise it will be worth it! Murphy started out more independent than his brother and still probably is a bit, but he also seeks out attention from time to time and can be very affectionate. Murphy looks more like pure Aussie than his brother, but he may still be mixed. We'd love Murphy and Mack to be adopted together. Mack came in with his brother Murphy. Both are sweet, loving, mid- to high-energy boys. Mack has been just about the sweetest boy ever from moment one—extremely affectionate and just loves giving you big Mack hugs. He loves when you let him be a Velcro dog, but don’t get the wrong idea—when you need your own space, he is very good about not being pushy about it. Mack’s brother Murphy looks more like pure Aussie, but we’re pretty sure that’s Mack’s mix as well. We'd love Mack and Murphy to be adopted together. This little fellah is sweet, sassy, happy go lucky and looking for his forever home. He is currently in our DASH Prison Training Program where he is learning his manners and basic commands. He seems to have already picked up on sit, stay, down, wait & leave it. Of course he will need encouragement & continued practice as he acclimates to a new home environment. Cooper is affectionate, energetic, but also can be lazy and relaxed when it's time to snuggle. He loves water & baths, is leash trained, housetrained, doesn't complain in his crate. His trainer says he will go in his crate to sleep when he is told "bed time". He is smitten with this boy saying he is a happy dog who enjoys his toys, walks and social attention. Cooper loves all people and playing the other dogs. He has not been cat or kid tested so proper introductions are a must although Cooper would probably tell you he's ready to come home now! She is very sweet and enjoys being with her person. She is very high energy and will need an active person or family who can give her an outlet for that energy. She does not like being crated or kenneled and will bark in both so an apartment is probably not going to be a good fit for her. She is working on her leash manners (she pulls until she gets some of her energy out) and she is working on her potty training. She has not been kid or cat tested. If you are ready for a buddy to go with you hiking or biking or any adventures or have a job for her to do, she is perfect for that and waiting (impatiently ) for her forever home! This precious little princess has been hand raised since birth. She and her mom ( Aussie mix ) have been in a loving foster home in Memphis Tn since the day she was born. Pixie is very sweet. Well socialized . Loving. Curious. Typical puppy. She is kennel trained ( with a sibling ) and does well with children and all other dogs . Once adopted, Pixie will transport with Rescue Vet Transport to her new forever family ( additional $185).
