Story
Calla. She’s named after a flower due to her delicate nature and beauty. She’s 1-2 years old and 35lbs. Calla is absolutely fabulous with dogs and cats and has never met another animal she didn’t like. She is the mother of 8 puppies that she raised with grace and now that she’s done her job, she’s so ready for a family of her own. She is super affectionate and cuddly once she feels safe. She’s apprehensive at first but then she’s on you like glue, Velcro, your new best friend. Calla is an easy-going dog who’s pretty low maintenance. She loves treats, snuggles and naps most of all. Apply today to snap up this very good little girlie!  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   January 24, 2025, 12:35 pm

Story
Gracie Mae is a little over a year old, her birthday is November 23, 2023. She is the kindest and sweetest dog and having to rehome her has not been an easy decision but it is what’s best for her. She has so much energy, so room to run or a farm would be ideal. She gets along with my other dog, my other dog is just too old to keep up. She is great with my toddler. She will come with her crate and I’m asking a $300 rehoming fee to insure she is going to a good home. She really is a great dog and this decision has not been made lightly. Things have changed and I work too much over time to be able to give her the attention that she needs.

Story
Meet Livvy! Livvy is such a cute, sweet perfect balance of fun and cuddles. She loves playing with other dogs and loves being by your side. Livvy was found abandoned when she was just a tiny puppy and she is now learning, growing and thriving! Livvy is crate trained, potty trained and is doing well with basic commands. She is 5 1/2 months old and about 20 lbs! Don’t let her size fool you, she plays with her 80 lb. fosters siblings and keeps up just fine! She has been around dogs and cats and does well with both, although she is somewhat scared of our three-year-old cat. She is great with adults and children and is so excited to meet everyone! We believe her to be a mix of Pit, American Bulldog, American Eskimo, Toy poodle, Maltese and a few other breeds! (DNA Test said so)! Though she is on the smaller side, she is healthy and full of energy! She loves to run with the other dogs and follow what they do. A perfect day for Livvy is lots of playtime outside in the yard playing with her doggy siblings, and then snuggling up to rest. She loves the kiddie pool and will just go swimming when she is hot! She also loves to sunbathe and gets super excited for her walks! Though she is crate trained during nap time, she sleeps in bed with her foster parents and she absolutely loves bedtime! She will get up and snuggle under the covers! She is potty trained and uses the bell to let us know she needs to go potty and will also ring the bell when she wants to go outside and play. Livvy is super smart and is already learning so much! We are working on sit and stay, and she knows where we keep the treats and will sit and wait for one. Livvy loves chewing on bones and squeaky, crinkly toys. She gets so excited to play and will keep you laughing! This sweet girl would do best in a home with children or another dog. She loves the interaction and lights up when the kids come home from school. She also gets extremely excited to have another dog to run around with so we definitely want her to have at least one dog in the home. If you think Livvy would be a perfect fit for your family, fill out our adoption application here: https://www.coopersafeplace.org/application-page Livvy’s adoption fee is $450.

Story
Meet Jack! Jack is a fun-loving, friendly, playful little guy. He is about 10 months old, and has a ton of puppy energy. Jack is a great companion, and will thrive in an active, social setting. We go to the Voice of America dog park every day, where Jack gets to meet up and play with his friends. He has never displayed aggressive or anti-social behavior (humping, nipping), which goes for humans and canine friends. He has come a long way, and needs a whole lot of love and attention to make sure he continues to develop into a happy, healthy little dog. Jack is very smart, he knows a small handful of tricks. We are still working on recall, as he comes consistently at the dog park, but gets distracted in wooded environments when we go hiking. The reason I am rehoming Jack is because I do not have time to properly care for him. I am away from him for 10 hours on weekdays. He has a ton of energy, and will do best in a home with a yard, where he can run to his heart's content.

Story
Meet Lil! Lil is a sweet and shy 2 year old Mini Aussie looking for her forever home after overcoming a difficult start to life in a puppy mill. Despite her past, she is house-trained and will use pee pads as she adjusts to new surroundings. Initially timid, Lil warms up to become a devoted cuddler once she feels safe. She thrives with the presence of a confident dog who can help her feel secure. While she tolerates men, she is much more comfortable around women and may take extra time to trust. Lil is also fearful of leashes and harnesses, so she will need a patient owner to gently introduce her to these items. Lil’s ideal home includes a securely fenced yard for her safety and exercise. She would do best with older children who understand her fears and can respect her need for space. Her new family should be patient, understanding, and willing to give her the time she needs to blossom into the loving companion she’s meant to be. Currently, Lil is on daily Prozac to help manage her anxiety, and her future family should be prepared to continue supporting her emotional well-being. If you’re ready to provide Lil with the love, patience, and safe environment she deserves, she could become a loyal and loving member of your family. Come meet Lil today and see the sweet companion she’s ready to be! Lil is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450. Lil is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Nebula, a truly beautiful dog. While her past holds some hardship – she was found living on the streets with her seven puppies – her spirit shines through. Nebula is a sweet and beautiful girl, possessing a gentle nature that will blossom with the right amount of patience and understanding. Nebula's intelligence is evident in her quick grasp of commands. She's already house-trained and crate-trained, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt. She enjoys walks immensely, exhibiting a calm and easy-going temperament. What Nebula truly desires is a loving home where she can finally feel safe and secure. While her street life has made her initially cautious around new people, once she builds trust, her playful puppy-like energy resurfaces. It's a beautiful transformation to witness. We believe Nebula would thrive in a quiet and patient home, ideally with someone experienced in working with dogs who have experienced trauma. With the right care, she'll become the most loyal and loving companion imaginable. If you're interested in learning more about Nebula and potentially offering her a loving forever home, please don't hesitate to contact us. $200 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.

Story
Whoever said “eyes are the windows into the soul”, was talking about Bright eyes (called “Tucker” by his foster mom). One look into his eyes and you can see the overwhelming love this little guy has to give. Bright eyes is approximately 10 months old and approximately 35lbs. We think he is a German Shepherd Mix.  If you are looking for a snuggle buddy to keep you warm in the cold winter months, look no further.  Bright eyes would love nothing more than to sit in or ON your lap. He does not understand personal space, the closer, the better. He loves his people. He has a very calm demeanor and just wants to be close to his family. Although a relatively calm little guy he is still a puppy, so he loves to play. His favorite game is tug-of-war.  Outside, Bright eyes LOVES to play fetch! He loves to prance and hop around the yard in happiness. He is working on his soccer skills. He is very smart and is picking up on commands extremely quickly. He knows Sit and Touch (gently touches your hand in greeting with his nose). He is working on Down, Shake, Watch, Drop it and Leave It.   He is great on the leash—no pulling or tugging. He has had a few public outings and did great meeting new people! He’s happy to be included and smell all the smells. He would be great for an active person who loves to go on walks, but would also be just as happy staying inside, snuggling by a fire. If you’re looking for a sweet,  little love bug to join your family, Bright Eyes is your guy. He will happily join you in all of your life’s adventures; whether it’s hiking a mountain or binging Netflix— Bright Eyes will be in your lap or by your side as your happiest companion. He will love and cherish every moment with you, until your eyes, shine just as bright &#226&#156&#168 All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.
