Luna is 11 months old and 35 lbs. She is an Australian Shepherd pup looking for a new loving home. If you’re familiar with Aussies, you’ll know this is a high-energy breed that needs attention. With proper training and care, you’ll be rewarded with an extremely intelligent and loyal companion. Luna loves playing with her foster siblings and sleeps peacefully in her crate at night (no accidents either!). She’s working on housetraining with her foster and is acclimating nicely. She would do well in a home where she’ll have plenty of space to roam and other dog-friends to play with. Luna is an intelligent and loving pup that just wants to share her affection with the right new family! She was listed for free on facebook and the they lived in a 1 bedroom apartment and keep her in a crate for long periods. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. The rescue does not adopt out to properties with invisible fences or tie outs. My name is Amos, and I'm a mini Australian Shepherd from a large breeding facility. Now that I am in rescue, I am learning how to be a happy, normal dog! I'm attentive and sweet-natured and enjoy hanging out with my people. I am great with dogs who are bigger than me, but am still working on not being a bully with smaller dogs. I'm learning that my crate is a safe space and not a prison, and I'm doing well with house training - I really like having a doggie door so I can go outside whenever I want! I love toys and running around outside, and I think I really like this "pet" thing. My foster parents are helping me learn what being a house dog is all about - I'm still figuring out what's OK and what's not, but overall I think I'm getting the hang of things. Because I am a soft and sensitive guy :) the SMARTER a dog is, the more SENSITIVE we are to stress and distress in unknown or overwhelming situations... So, I was shut down in the loud, never quiet pound environment :( However, in the last minutes before being taken back for euthanasia, a rescue foster met me and said, I WILL FOSTER!! AND THAT, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.... SAVED MY LIFE! Well, now my life is all kinds of fun. I have foster brothers and sisters and a human brother. I also have a BUNCH of toys that I love to collect all around me! Just like the herding dog I am :) My foster mom loves me so much, but absolutely cautions to my new family that food (or even the possibility of food) sends me into a protection mode with my foster siblings (not my human sibling, but we will not adopt him into a home with small children- or as we call them, walking TREATS) and until he either gets trained out of it, or he get nutritionally stable, no food with any other dog around.
