Story
Murphy came in with his brother Mack. Both are sweet, loving, mid- to high-energy boys. Murphy started out more independent than his brother and still probably is a bit, but he also seeks out attention from time to time and can be very affectionate. Murphy looks more like pure Aussie than his brother, but he may still be mixed. We'd love Murphy and Mack to be adopted together. They are bonded and thrive in each other's company and the company of other dogs. A physically fenced yard is required. Murphy is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. If you are interested in adopting Murphy, please complete the online application here (copy and paste into your browser): https://hhdane.formstack.com/forms/lostpetrecoveryadoptionform

Story
Mack came in with his brother Murphy. Both are sweet, loving, mid- to high-energy boys. Mack has been just about the sweetest boy ever from moment one—extremely affectionate and just loves giving you big Mack hugs. He loves when you let him be a Velcro dog, but don’t get the wrong idea—when you need your own space, he is very good about not being pushy about it. Mack’s brother Murphy looks more like pure Aussie, but we’re pretty sure that’s Mack’s mix as well. We'd love Mack and Murphy to be adopted together. Story
ABOUT ME: Hi! My name’s Calvin and I like to think of myself as the life of the party. I was surrendered to COPAW as I was too much for my previous owner to manage (apartment living is not the best environment for an energetic guy like me). I am a happy, social boy once I get to know you and my foster mom says that my tail wags “a million miles a minute.” I love toys, especially bones and anything that I can tear the stuffing out of. I am a little shy at first and will bark at you but once you feed me a few treats, we will be lifelong besties (ask my foster mom!). I love to play with the other dogs in the house. We especially love the game of chase. My mom keeps telling me that with the proper training, I would make a great running companion. My favorite thing though is to curl up with my humans after some fun play time. I AM GREAT WITH: People and other dogs (both big and small). I love my two legged foster brothers. However, due to my energetic nature, I might be too much for really small kids. I know sit and am good at walking on a leash. I am okay with a crate and am used to sleeping in it. I am very proud to tell everyone, I am completely potty trained! Yes, you read that right. Isn't that awesome? I AM STILL WORKING ON: My manners. I like to counter surf which makes everything at eye level fair game. My foster mom is also helping me learn not to jump on everyone when I get super excited and to come when called. I know my name but sometimes practice the art of selective hearing when she is calling me for. I AM NOT GOOD WITH: Cats! My foster family has one and boy does he get on my nerves. I am also a little nervous about being touched around the neck as I was trained using a shock collar. I am getting better with reassurance from the humans. While I am good at walking on a leash, I will need some help at not barking at everyone I see. I REQUIRE: ◦ Fenced-in yard, as I like to run around! ◦ No shared walls, as I like to talk sometimes (apartments, townhomes) ◦ No cats ◦ An active person or family would be wonderful **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Booster shots are included in the adoption fee and will be performed at our clinic, or the adopter can use their own vet at their expense. Adopters must reside within 2 hours of Columbus, OH. No transportation assistance is available.**

Story
Meet Bandit! This sweet 3 year old Australian Shepherd is ready to find his special home! Bandit came to us in 2023 as an owner surrender. He went through our PUPP training program and was quickly adopted! Unfortunately, it wasn’t the happily ever after we were hoping for. He has developed some separation anxiety and this caused the owners to be facing eviction from their apartment complex. They made the tough decision to return him to the rescue after having him for 10 months. We have spent the last month working with Bandit and identifying some of his anxieties. He is definitely triggered by being left alone. He does not destroy anything in the crate or try to escape! But he will bark incessantly. Due to this we do not recommend he live in an apartment, condo, townhouse or any home with shared wall space. Bandit started anxiety meds last week (Trazodone 2 times a day) and they seem to be helping! His barking when left has been cut way down! Typically, now he will only bark for 15-30 minutes, then sleeps while crated the rest of the day. His anxiousness also shows when meeting new people. He is very standoffish with other dogs and humans when he first meets them. But once he warms up, he is your best friend! Now on to the good! He is such a sweet pup! When you are home he is happy to run around the backyard, play with another dog, then grab a toy and chill out. He loves cuddling on the couch and sleeping in bed at night . He is a little intimidated by larger dogs, but does great with dogs his size or smaller! (His best friend in his foster home is a 1 year old Cocker Spaniel!) He is also great with cats! He has shown being pretty uncomfortable around kids so we recommend an adult only home or teenage aged kids. Due to his breed and age, Bandit is active! He will need a family committed to exercise and mental stimulation. We have found his anxiety in the crate decreases when he has had proper exercise before going in! (A walk, playtime in the backyard, etc.) He also has his moments of being a total couch potato <3. He would benefit greatly from someone who works from home! Bandit is 45 lbs., neutered, vaccinated, HW tested, microchipped, potty trained and knows basic commands! If you have space in your heart and home to give this guy the patience he needs we promise he is worth it! If you are interested please visit our website and complete an adoption application: https://www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables His fee is $350  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We appreciate your support, in order to help us continue to rescue dogs! Donations can be made via our PayPal account - info@prodogsohio.org. You must be willing to commute to the location that the pet is being fostered in order to be eligible to adopt. We do not ship our pets. We also require that you personally bring the pet back to us should the adoption not work out.   We do NOT negotiate adoption fees. All money goes to support our rescue operation. We are 100% volunteered based. We require your current dog(s) to be current on vaccines and heartworm prevention.  Apply online at www.prodogsohio.org, under the Adoptables tab. Story
Meet Hannah! Hannah needs a patient foster to help her acclimate to indoor living. Hannah raised a couple litters of puppies as a stray. We trapped Hannah and also took in one older pup and three young puppies (Hannah is the presumed mother of all four).Despite living as a stray and not having much interaction with humans, Hannah has done surprisingly well acclimating. She is comfortable in a crate and doesnt mind other dogs or cats. She comes when called and lets both adults and children approach and pet her now.Due to Hannahs background, we will require the foster to have a securely fenced yard. Hannahs biggest struggle is with leash training. She has chewed through two leashes so far. She does go to the door when she wants to potty (so we assume at one point she did live indoors) but startles at the sight of a leash.Hannah has the potential to be a terrific dog! She just needs a little help with leash-walking and some time to decompress.Fostering or foster-to-adopt are both options and we can provide a crate, baby gates, harnesses, and leashes to help accommodate Hannah in your home. Her adoption fee, should you choose to adopt, is $250. That includes her future spay as well as heartworm testing, preventatives, and vaccinations.Apply at ricopetrecovery.org if you are interested in fostering or fostering-to-adopt Miss Hannah.

Story
Today is Kobes day to find his forever home. Kobe is a very gentle mixed breed. Possibly Australian Shep/Husky mix. He is a little over a year old and only 45 pounds. Kobe is a perfect dog, but just a tad bit shy. He is good with kids, other dogs, cats and every one he has come in contact with. He if a very loving dog that thrives on being part of a family. He would also be a great companion for a dog needing a calm friend. Kobe gets a little nervous when there is a lot of commotion, so a quieter environment may be best. Kobe has beautiful eyes that youll fall in with the minute you meet him. You can apply to meet Kobe at ricopetrecovery.org.Adoption fee is $250 and he is fully vetted.
