Story
Hello, My name is Artemis! I’m a hefty girl my current family loves me but I keep jumping on everyone and hurt them but not on purpose. I’ve tried training and I’m too headstrong. I’ve never hurt a human but I’ve had issues with the other dogs at home. I’ve tried to be a good sister but I get very jealous of attention. I do love people so much I think I’m a tiny lap dogs ( but what big dog doesn't.) This is why I would do best in a home with someone who doesn’t have other dogs. I LOVE cats and LOVE my kids. I just don’t know my strength. If you’re looking for a lovable land hippo who needs a home that’s a good fit reach out to my family.

Story
We adopted Fenrir (Fennie) as a puppy from a breeder. He is just over 2 years old and crate trained. He loves his humans but does not do well with little kids as he has become too reactive to my little boy. He loves to play fetch, knows sit, lay down, crate, shake (both paws). He also loves to cuddle and is protective. With his level of reactiveness and separation anxiety I do not feel like I am giving him what he needs. With his aggressive toward smaller kids (due to the loud noises and fast movements) he needs to have a calm home without kids or maybe just teens and older. This was a devastating decision for us but if I love him then I need to give him to a home who can train him or create the environment he needs.

Story
Brooks has been our baby since he was a puppy. He's great in cars, on runs and trails, loves to play and loves affection. He's always seen himself as one of us, he's cozy and comfortable inside just relaxing while we do. Loves sticks and chasing balls down. A very good listener, he sits, stays, lays down, and shakes. We've never fed him table food, and he's always gotten our best. He's vocal towards protecting his property and his needs, but a simple "no" or "thank you Brooks" is enough to stop his alerts. He's been around other dogs and cats his whole life, and he's not had many issues. We just had our first child, and in his limited experience around children, he's been tentative and nervous. He's shown his teeth to our child and growled, but we haven't let it go any further. We have another on the way and it's very difficult keeping the family apart. We'd love Brooks to enjoy the rest of his life in a place with more space and no one that makes him nervous like small children do.

Story
Bindi is a 4 year and 5 month old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix weighing 30 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to not being able to provide the time and attention she needs. Potential adopters required to understand breed specific needs. Bindi is a high energy dog and needs an active family, she will not do well if left alone for any period of time. Bindi can be timid with strangers, letting her approach you is best. Once she knows you, she's a very sweet girl and loves belly rubs. Bindi is very smart, quick to listen to commands, she's been through puppy training and basic obedience classes. She loves to be outside and go on adventures, good at parks. She LOVES to play fetch, a tennis ball is her favorite toy. If she does not have a daily outlet for her energy and need to "work" or is left alone she becomes very anxious. When she becomes bored she gets herself into trouble. She is good but selective with other dogs, another dog in the home may help her thrive, she can resource guard with her toys and other dogs-supervision needed at all times with toys. Good with children over 12 who will understand her boundaries. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today!
